Comparison of Cruises & All-Inclusive Tours 2018 for Egypt

When planning my trip to Egypt, I compared the offers available on 3 all-inclusive tour operator websites.
I tried to read the “fine print” to calculate the real final cost.

Here are the assumptions taken into account:

  • The price shown is per person
  • You share a double room with someone
  • You take all the optional excursions offered
  • You already have an Egyptian visa
  • You depart from Paris, mid-November 2018

I realize while making this table that:

  • It’s better to land in Luxor and then visit Cairo last because you’ll have a full day of guided sightseeing in Cairo. Whereas those who land in Cairo and end in Aswan will only get half a day of guided Cairo touring (however, on the first day in Cairo, you can take an Uber yourself to the Egyptian Museum, but that depends on the Paris-Cairo flight times)
  • Voyage Privé, by offering a flight back to Paris on Sunday evening, allows you to stay an extra day in Egypt and visit much more, especially in Cairo
  • Memphistours’ offer is expensive and there’s no time to go to Abu Simbel. Also, you have to take 2 internal flights: Cairo => Luxor, Aswan => Cairo, which drives up the price.
  • The itinerary of organized tours is designed to force you at some point to choose a paid visit. Otherwise, you risk spending a whole day on the boat.

Finally, the comparative table below will allow you, based on the importance you give to such and such a site, to choose the organized tour that suits you best.

Note that offers change all the time. This comparison favors Voyage Privé, but that doesn’t mean they always offer the same deals and itineraries. I suggest you redo this exercise with current offers.

Bon voyage!
