Where to buy tickets for the Encarnacion Carnival in Paraguay?

If you come to Paraguay for the Carnival, you should know that the Carnival takes place in Encarnacion every weekend at the end of January and at the end of February. Less grandiose than the one in Rio de Janeiro, the one in Encarnacion has the merit of being fun with its water and foam battles the day after the carnival.
If you are reading this article in February 2017, you should know that there are only 2 dates left in February to enjoy the Carnavales Encarnacenos 2017 : the 18th and 25th of February.

On line

You can buy the tickets online here: http: //www.ticketea.com.py/evento.php?evento=507
Be careful, the prices are 2.5 times more expensive because these are the tickets to Tigo’s private lounges.

Awards

Online : 220 000 Gs (Tigo private lounge)
At the sales offices: between 60,000 Gs and 90,000 Gs, depending on the bleachers chosen. A few days before the carnival, Ticketea sells me the tickets for the 3rd tier at 90,000 Gs per person instead of the 80,000 Gs announced on the official website of the organizer.

The saleswoman tells me that everything is the same, except bleachers 1 and 6 which are frankly not great (beginning and end of the aisle). The bleacher numbers indicate the location of the area on the long aisle (then chair level, it’s free seating).
When you are on the spot, avoid being in the front rows, you will get a lot of snow moss on your head. Come equipped with the :

  • sunglasses (so as not to get sunglasses in the eyes)
  • a small towel to remove foam
  • bottles of snow foam, to be bought AFTER the entrance (and not before, in the street because the organizers don’t want people to bring foam bought outside)

By being at bleachers 3, we appeared several times on the official photos 🙂
