Our Suitcases
A good practice is to take a photo of the suitcases you check in. That way, if they get lost, it will be much easier to describe them accurately. On top of that, they each have a Airtag that allows us to locate them. 💡 Tip: get -5% off your Yupwego travel insurance with the promo code TDM5. Click here to claim it. Although we are employees of our own French company and contribute to the French national health insurance fund, we still need to take out private travel insurance. Indeed, as soon as you go abroad, any reimbursement from the French healthcare system (CPAM) will only be considered on a case-by-case basis, at a flat rate, and after you’ve paid the costs upfront… In an emergency, the national health insurance won’t be much help. We were first insured by Chapka. We were very happy with their services and all our medical expenses were…

[story time] Why I love Omega watches so much
We’re continuing our series on luxury brands (after Hermès , and Dior). I have a bling side running through my veins, so I really have a soft spot for luxury brands. But not just any luxury brand. Recently, someone searched for “Gucci” on my blog. Why would I buy Gucci, seriously? Who do you take me for? Ewwww… I discovered the Omega brand when I was very young. I didn’t know it was a luxury brand. Because my grandfather had an Omega watch. The DE VILLE model, to be precise. My family is middle class, so I never thought Grandpa would have bought such a luxury item. He probably bought…

[story time] I Broke My Elbow & the Aftermath 20 Years Later
I’ve told you before that I had a bike accident over 20 years ago in Vietnam. In that accident, I injured my face all over, but I also broke a front tooth and my left elbow. Today, we’re going to talk about that elbow. I hesitated a lot before publishing this story. I’ve only talked about it with a few people, but I thinkit’s important to share stories like this. Recently, a friend broke her elbow and my story reassured her, so I wanted to publish this post to reassure all the other broken elbows out there. Welcome to the broken elbow club. It’s going to be okay ! The…

Nuage Sauvage, Vietnamese Organic Tea & Trà Art, a Vietnamese tea house in Paris
Note from Anh: Vân is my childhood friend. I saw her Nuage Sauvage project born from day one. From selecting producers to tasting samples, to choosing packaging and renovating her shop. From near or far, I followed every step of her project. I am grateful that she introduced Vietnamese tea to France to further promote our country’s tea culture. Her shop and website feature the most delicious and rare teas. Some are so rare that only about a hundred kilos are produced each year. Here is an interview with Vân to tell you more about Vietnamese tea culture, as well as her shop / tea house Nuage Sauvage. My honest…

Road Trip: Discovering Southern Albania
We’ve been in Tirana for a week now. With very little info available about Albania, we decide to hit all the must-see spots, which are almost all in the south, to see if there’s another city we could settle in for a few weeks. Part 1: Travel JournalPart 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Journal Car rental We swing by Europcar in Tirana, which has an office right off the highway. Renting a compact car costs us €15/day, but we got upgraded. We ended up with a pretty tall Dacia, which is nice for tourists like us. To get to the Europcar office, we just grabbed a taxi. Albanian taxis…

My Current Favorites [March 2021]: Under the Oak Tree, reMarkable 2, Masterclass, Snowpiercer
I tend to be excessive, especially when I love something too much. In March, I reached the obsession stage, for several weeks. I couldn’t stop talking about it, non-stop. JB even asked me to change topics several times ahahah. Note: In March 2021, even though I spent 10 days skiing, I can’t really say it’s my favorite sport 🙂 However, I had a crush on the Savin Kuk ski resort in Montenegro, the perfect place to learn how to ski <3 I still can’t believe I now know how to ski. It seems so incredible to me! OK, let’s move on to my “obsessions” in March 2021 The web novel…
