Attend a rocket launch at Cape Canaveral (USA) – Road trip in Florida #8

The best thing about traveling is that sometimes you have incredible experiences without having anticipated them Last Monday evening, I logged on to the Kennedy Space Center site in Cape Canaveral, which we visited the next day. The purpose of this connection is quite simple: to see if I can get cheaper tickets online than on site So I discover completely by chance that on Wednesday (the day after our visit), there is a rocket launch planned to put a GPS satellite into orbit. This launch is organized by the company United Launch Alliance (ULA). Ouahou !!!! It seems so crazy to watch a rocket launch that I didn’t even…

Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando (USA): Our favorite theme park – Road trip in Florida #6

If the travel diary to Disney parks is in vlog format (read more here), I absolutely want to show you the Universal park we visited on the blog. It is the park we preferred among the 3 theme parks in Orlando. I will explain why. Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary This isn’t the first time we visit a Universal park, we went to Universal Studios in Singapore (with very few tourists) and liked it very much, even if the park seemed small to us. I don’t know why we missed the one in Osaka but as we will go back there next year,…

[Practical Travel Guide] Disney parks in Orlando (USA): Top Attractions, where to stay, Fast Pass: Road trip in Florida #5

So, it’s already been a week that we are on our Road trip in Florida (read part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4). There are about ten amusement parks in all in Orlando but we decided to spend only 3 days: 2 at Disney and 1 at Universal. Being very tired, we didn’t prepare much for these magical days, apart from buying the tickets in advance. And we’re wrong to come in “I’m living in the moment” mode because there’s a lot of planning to do, especially when you spend so little time in Orlando. Don’t make the same mistakes we did. In this guide, we share some tips…

The Drive In experience, the outdoor cinema in the United States – Road trip in Florida #4

When we spent a day at Hollywood Studios in Orlando, we passed a restaurant that replicates the American Drive In experience: the famous open-air movie theaters where you can watch a screening while sitting in your own car The wait was too long for us to eat in this restaurant but it gave us the idea to try to live this typically American experience in a much more authentic way by going to a real drive-in The drive-in is a true symbol of the American way of life and in particular of their adoration for cars. These open-air cinemas had their heyday in the 1960s. They are gradually disappearing: there…

This article marks the beginning of the series of travel diaries for our road trip to Florida. Stay tuned because a lot of surprises are waiting for you. Part 1: Travel Diary Part2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary Today is our last day in Miami Beach. Before leaving on a road trip, we gather all our winter clothes and computer equipment in a suitcase and leave it in a locker. This will be safer than leaving them unattended in the trunk of the car during our visits (read more about the lockers available all over the world here). It’s a good choice finally because not only that makes us…
