3 Days in Florence (Italy): Duomo, Botticelli, the David, Uffizi Museum & Panoramic View

The trip from Venice to Rome takes so much time (by train) that we decide to cut the trip in two: Venice – Florence and then Florence – Rome. What a good decision because we were able to visit this nice city just before it was classified as a “red zone” (another way to confine a city without saying so explicitly). Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary Our hotel Our hotel (B&B La residenza dell’Orafo, Booking link ) is just a few minutes walk from the train station, a few minutes from the central market and 15 minutes from the main tourist attractions. I…

3rd & 4th days in Venice (Italy): Arsenal, churches, the Scuolas, Murano & Lido

In the previous episode, I took you to see the must-see places in Venice. In this article, we continue to explore the equally beautiful, but less visited places. Beware, some of them are very famous too, but wouldn’t have been put in the must-see list of travelers who only spend 2 days there. Program of the 3rd and 4th days in Venice: Very nice but not essential Venice Arsenal: Shipyard playing a decisive role in the construction of the Venetian Empire by allowing the rapid production of many ships. Church of Santa Maria di Nazareth: right next to the train station, this is the most beautiful church in Venice (in…

2 days in Venice (Italy): Must-see Visits

We just spent 2 weeks in Venice. Of course, we are working at the same time, so in real life, we really only spent 5 days visiting a maximum of things in the city, including 2 full days for its must-sees. According to me, here are the musts of Venice to do in two days: Saint Mark’s Square: a huge tourist square saint Mark’s Basilica: golden mosaic everywhere the Doge’s Palace: sumptuous rooms, decorated from floor to ceiling Bridge of Sighs: connects the old prisons to the interrogation cells of the Doge’s Palace, you can walk on it while visiting the Doge’s Palace but otherwise you can see it from…

Venice (Italy): 2 weeks as Digital Nomads

After a month and a half in Rome, we decide to spend two weeks in Venice to enjoy the good weather before the arrival of winter. This is a first for us! We visited a lot of fake Venice, small Venice, green Venice…. but for the REAL Venice, we waited until 2020 to go there. We arrived in Venice by train. The train crosses a kind of narrow path, surrounded by water. It looks like we are going to the Keys. The water does not seem so deep because I saw people with their feet in the water and it only reaches their knees. We see a lot of fishermen…

1 day in Vicenza (Italy): 45mn from Venice

A few days before our arrival in Venice, I discover thanks to the paper flower designers that I am on Instagram, that Cartotecnica Rossi, an Italian company, world leader in crepe paper , will be present at the creative fair in Vincenza (Vicenza). They have also invited some Italian designers that I am a fan of. Neither one nor two, I look up where Vicenza is on Google Maps and discover that the city is only 45 minutes from Venice. So I decide to make the round trip during the day from Venice. Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary Vicenza is on the Venice…

Digital Nomad: our 2nd Airbnb in Rome (Italy) #8

An ultra fast post to show you our 2nd airbnb in Rome.We were in the Trastevere district in September, but we moved to the Piazza di Spagna side to be more central. In Rome, the public transport services are more and more limited, we easily wait 20 minutes to take the bus, so it’s good to have an apartment close to everything. All the services I regularly use are between 5 minutes and 15 minutes on foot. What a relief! We paid 35€/night for this apartment, it’s a ridiculously low price, which we could never have had without the Covid (you will find all the links to our Airbnb &…

My session with Anthony Page, a Network Spinal Analysis Chiropractor in Rome (Italy)

Today I will tell you about my session with a chiropractor. I had a few sessions in Morocco (in Essaouira) which I have told you about here. A few months ago, I watched an episode of Netflix’s The Goop Lab (episode 5) on energy care with a Network Spinal Analysis chiropractor and I thought “OMG I want I want”. Be very careful what you ask for because the universe often arranges to give it to you at the most unexpected time. Completely by chance, an Italian friend of mine offered me a session at her chiropractor’s <3 <3 telling me that it was going to be good for me.Having found…

Dental Care in Rome, Italy (crowns, caries, scaling, paradontitis): How much does it cost?

Sorry to take so long to upload the travel diaries, but since September, I’ve been hanging out at the dentist’s and these appointments put me in low energy, it’s crazy. Constantly thinking about my teeth or my tooth problems, it exhausts me! I wonder if 5 continents world tour has turned into a dentists’ world tour. It’s terrible! I visited dental offices in Thailand, Morocco, Canada, Italy and Turkey. Well, what I can tell you is that French dentists are the worst, so if your wallet allows it and you can get treatment elsewhere, I highly recommend you. Why should I get treatment in Italy? That’s the question everyone asks…

[Story time] How I almost slept outside in Sweden in 2009

In 2009, while I am just starting my professional career, Anh is in a gap year in Norway in Oslo. I went there the previous summer and this March we decide to meet fora weekend in Stockholm, Sweden. At that time I was not yet the globetrotter I had become. My travels abroad can be counted on the fingers of one hand and this is barely the third time I have taken a plane. The trip from Paris to Stockholm goes without a hitch. At the airport, I have to take a shuttle to the central station. I call Anh who has just arrived at the station with my French…
