Taxi from Lima airport: how much does it cost? (2024)
Usually, when we arrive at an airport, we either use public transport or an Uber to get to our accommodation.
In Lima’s case, there is a shuttle bus that seems really good, but it only leaves once an hour. We were very tired after a sleepless night and a 12-hour journey, so no.
Uber is present in Lima, but they don’t have privileged access to the airport, so it’s not a recommended option.
I had done my research and noted that the taxi fare to Miraflores, the neighborhood where we were staying, should be between 55 and 80 soles. Peruvian taxis don’t have meters, so you have to negotiate the fare before departing.
At the airport, in the baggage claim area, there is a large sign indicating the rates according to destination zones.

After customs, you’ll find three counters: Taxi Green, Directo, and Taxi365.
These counters allow you to prepay for your taxi ride. In the end, you don’t even need to negotiate with the driver!
I head to Taxi365 because I had seen that name mentioned during my research, but I imagine the service is more or less the same.
The fare charged matches the one on the sign: 65 S/ for Miraflores.
You can pay by credit card with no commission.
After payment, the clerk hands us a receipt and even walks us to the driverāgreat service!
The trip to Miraflores went smoothly and takes about 30 minutes.
