If you missed the previous episode, here is the link: Istanbul #1: Visit of Saint Sophia It has been several days that we are in the Sisli district in an Airbnb in Istanbul, but we can’t really appreciate it, not knowing very well the local corners and neighborhood activities. Fortunately, we have a meet-up with other digital nomads like us who rented Airbnb in the area. As everywhere in Istanbul, our neighborhood, very colorful, is made of huge hills: it goes down and it goes up dry Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary We are stuck between two subway stations, and not much is…

I squatted a Jewelry Show reserved for professionals in Paris (France)

During my quick visit to Paris, I proposed to Mr. (my girlfriend I met in Seoul) to accompany me to a trade show reserved for jewelry professionals Part 1: Visit of the Show Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Visit of the exhibition Note: I’m not the type to collect bags, shoes, but I never get tired of jewelry. After spending several years buying them, I said to myself: “what if I created them myself?”. Not being able to wear anything other than precious metals, I became interested in goldsmithing. Before going around the world, I took courses with two goldsmiths, working directly with silver (soldering, setting, cutting etc.). I…

Test & Reviews: Face care at Caudalie Boutique Spa in Paris (France)

This post is NOT sponsored After reading the book by the creator of the Caudalie brand (a bestseller across the Atlantic), I wanted to test their facial care in one of their spas in France. I have already bought their products, they don’t convince me 100%, but there are very good reviews on their spa so I made an appointment for a 50mn treatment. I have chosen Caudalie Boutique Spa rue des Abbesses because I had professional appointments not far away. By booking online (here), I get a discount: a facial at 56€ instead of 80€. Already, I love the neighborhood, but moreover the store is super nice (I put…

[story time] My exchange semester in Australia: Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne & Adelaide (Travel Diaries) 2/2

I told you that life was not so good for me as an Asian student in Sydney, but I still took advantage of my 4 months exchange in Australia in 2009 to travel a little bit. Part 2: My travel diary in Australia My habits in Sydney I often went to the Sydney Fish Market where sashimi was sold by the kilogram. I was so greedy (I often bought 500g of salmon to eat on my own) that I was often photographed to illustrate travel blogs I read a lot of women’s magazines. They contained fewer ads than the French version and were more expensive (8$AU). One of my tweets…

[story time] My semester exchange in Sydney (Australia): Between expectation and reality (1/2)

This month, you will be entitled to the old journeys made before the round-the-world trip. Today, I am going to tell you about my stay in Australia in 2009 as an exchange student. Part 1: Between expectation and reality Part 2: But it wasn’t all bad: my travel diary in Australia Part 1: Between expectation and reality At that time, I was developing a passion for Australia. I enrolled in the “Australian Cinema” course at my business school, the course consisted of watching every Monday afternoon Australian cult films and dreaming of an exchange in Sydney. One year later, after a year off in Norway, I was at the top:…

[story time] My One Year Internship in Oslo (Norway)

Today, we are going to take a trip back in time to 2008. I’m going to tell you about my gap year / one year internship in a great company in Oslo, Norway Why a gap year in Norway? For those of you who went to high school, you must have been familiar with the notion of a gap year. Between the 2nd and 3rd year of school, any student can choose between: continuing immediately with the 3rd year, or taking a gap year, to do what they want to do: travel, do an internship, or create their own business In addition, in order to graduate, we all had to…

    That’s it, we are owners!

I posted on my Facebook account (private) the photos of our first real estate acquisition. And everyone asked me if we were planning to move to France etc. But no but no, we continue to travel. Our apartment is a rental investment, and will serve as a home sweet home… one day, maybe when we retire. I tell you here how we bought our first apartment while traveling. As we are novices in this field, it is not necessarily advice (there are surely more profitable things to do) but feedback. Our goal was not to maximize returns but to start building our wealth for retirement. Background Did you know that…
