Test & Reviews: Face care at Caudalie Boutique Spa in Paris (France)

This post is NOT sponsored

After reading the book by the creator of the Caudalie brand (a bestseller across the Atlantic), I wanted to test their facial care in one of their spas in France. I have already bought their products, they don’t convince me 100%, but there are very good reviews on their spa so I made an appointment for a 50mn treatment.

I have chosen Caudalie Boutique Spa rue des Abbesses because I had professional appointments not far away.

By booking online (here), I get a discount: a facial at 56€ instead of 80€.

Already, I love the neighborhood, but moreover the store is super nice (I put here the official photo because I didn’t think to take a picture).

As soon as I arrive, I am served a draining flavoured water (I think) which is very pleasant. Even the waiting area is tastefully decorated and brings serenity.

Then, a beautician comes and invites me to sit in the treatment room.

She lets me undress, put on a hairnet and slip quietly under the big “Caudalie” towel. Then she asks me what kind of music I want during the treatment (jazz, nature, classical).

Here, we aren’t allowed to have a heated bed, but the temperature in the room is perfect, and it is very pleasant.

The esthetician asks me what my expectations are and my usual routine (I gave her the short routine, not my 10-step layering routine). And if there are any products that I am allergic/don’t like. We then agree on the Eclat – Vinoperfect treatment.

She explains to me the steps of the treatment.

First, we start by removing make-up and cleansing the skin and the décolleté. It uses a machine equivalent to the Clarisonic, I don’t know the cleanser but it looks foamy and very soft. I am allowed hot towels to cleanse the skin and open the pores. Hmmm it’s super relaxing.

We continue with a scrub, very pleasant, which does not hurt at all. Warm towel.

Then she puts some oil on me and starts to massage me with two hot stones, then two cold stones, then with her hands. The massage is very good, even if I have known better (at Ioma, at my beautician in Chamonix or in Budapest), it is still one notch above the massages you get in a traditional beauty institute.

Then follows the application of the mask, during which I have either a foot massage or a hand massage (the esthetician asks me which I prefer). That too is a very good point.

They cleanse the mask with warm compresses, then spread me with Vinoperfect serum, Vinoperfect fluid and eye contour.

Between the two stages, of course, I also get the sprays of grape water and Caudalie’s beauty elixir.

These are two products that I have already tested, that I didn’t like, but it is only today that I learn that it is related to the misuse of the product: I should have shaken the beauty elixir bottle before pssschitter to activate the essential oils inside. Usually, the presence of alcohol would have bothered me, but since the beautician uses a moisturizing product immediately after the beauty elixir, my skin was never dehydrated during the treatment.

Result

At the end of the treatment, she provides me with a comb and an eau de toilette, to make me beautiful if I want 😀

I admit that after the treatment, I looked in the mirror and was very surprised at the result.

First of all, I don’t have my hair in a mess because the hairclip that holds my hair in place doesn’t leave a mark on my head or flatten my hair.

Then, my skin is radiant, and my spots really seem to fade away. That’s impressive. I had to ask the esthetician if she had put a tinted fluid on me, because I thought my skin was so hot. She told me she had put a normal fluid on me.

I don’t expect such a glow after only 50 minutes. In my opinion, the exfoliation was very well done and the massage activated the blood circulation well to give me such a fresh and radiant complexion.

After the treatment, I am also entitled to another cool drink. The beautician shows me the products she used for me, without pushing to buy.

In any case, this treatment gives me back my confidence in Caudalie’s Vinoperfect line (an anti-stain line that I don’t use assiduously at the moment) and in Caudalie’s products in general. I recommend it!

The price is very soft for the service and the quality of the care, and I found the experience much more pleasant than at Nuxe where I felt I was more judged on the state of my skin (the beauticians there allowed themselves a little too much comment…). frank remarks)
