[Thoughts] #4: My Personal Development Books

A few months ago, I started the “Reflection” section focused on personal development and I told you that I would give you a list of my books I started to work on myself in 2015 when I realized that despite a dream situation, I was very unhappy, and that my misfortunes came from me and not from others. After 3 years, I think I’ve come a long way: I was able to identify and understand why things were not going well, and change my way of seeing things. Since then, I’ve been doing much better. When did I realize that I have evolved and made progress? It was when my…

Around Essaouira #2: Visit of Had Draa souk (Morocco)

As you may know, we are currently in Essaouira for 1 month. The owner of our apartment in Essaouira advised us to visit the souk of Had Draa which takes place every Sunday and is located about 20 kilometers from Essaouira. It is an authentic Berber market, far from the tourist attraction of the medina. Our owner advises us to go there in the morning because the cattle market ends quite early. Anh prefers to sleep in, so I’m going alone. The owner told us that collective cabs leave from the station to get there. So I leave at 8 am and go to the CTM bus station which is…

    Essaouira (Morocco) #1: First impressions

After 3 hours by bus with the company CTM (which we recommend), we finally arrive in Essaouira. We are welcomed by our owner of Airbnb, who comes to pick us up by car at the bus station, it’s too nice since the station is only 5 minutes walk from the Airbnb, we could have come by ourselves. Here is the video of our large apartment (F4, 3 bedrooms). The apartment is located in the modern part of the city. This apartment costs us only 20€/night for a monthly rental, a real bargain. Essaouira doesn’t cost much anyway, but having such a clean, big, well located one… we were lucky. Moreover,…

VPN: What is it for? Why have one when you travel? Which one to choose?

The VPN is an indispensable tool for the connected traveler. Find out what it is, what it’s for and which one to choose. A VPN: what is it? Without going into technical details, a VPN (for Virtual Private Network) is a protocol that allows you to create an encrypted and secure tunnel between your connection and the website you are visiting. If you are in Italy and you visit a website, the website can see your IP address and know that you are in Italy. If you use a VPN, you can use a relay server in France. The website you are visiting will only have the IP address of…

[Test & Reviews] Internet everywhere with the Huawei E5577 Wifi Pocket PC

EDIT: I made a little confusion between two models, the Huawei E5573 and the E5577. The only difference between the two: the E5577 has a digital display to show the amount of data consumed. The model you see on the video is the E5573. The E5573 (without screen) is available here : Amazon link or on my Leboncoin account The E5577 (with screen) is available here: Amazon link In this little video, I present you a great hardware: the Huawei E5577Cs-322Wifi pocket As its name suggests, a wifi pocket allows you to have a wifi spot in your pocket. You can configure it in two different ways. By inserting a…

    Marrakech (Morocco): First impressions

After an express passage to Casablanca, we are in a bus to Marrakech (3 hours with the company CTM, which we recommend). We’ve heard a lot of good and a lot of bad about this city and want to make our own opinion. That’s why we book an Airbnb for only a week when we usually book for a month. If we don’t like it, we can quickly go somewhere else. Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary Our Airbnb The rates are so cheap that we opt for a privatized riad, with 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. Just for us. 30€/night. In order to extend…

Tripmode: a Software to Reduce Your Computer’s Internet Consumption

This post is NOT sponsoredSince we arrived in Morocco, the wifi that we have in our accommodations aren’t fast enough to work comfortably. We therefore use a pocket wifi in which we insert a SIM card to go through the 4G connection which is much faster. We gain in speed, but we pay for each GB of connection consumed. In Morocco it’s not very expensive (1 € per Go) but it is still necessary to be vigilant.Enter : Cloud applications (Evernote, Dropbox, Google Drive, …) that synchronize. Spotify downloading the playlist of the week Automatic updates … One can very quickly consume a lot.We discovered a great software: TripMode that allows us…

[Thoughts] #3: Gratitude & Being Thankful for What We Have

Recently, I was chatting with a friend on Facebook and since we haven’t seen each other for a year, she asked me “What’s up?” Apart from my travels? What’s new to tell him? I remembered my personal development since the departure on my round-the-world trip. And I told him that in each country I was receiving a life lesson . It’s always with a lot of fun and joy that I discover it by taking stock of a country. P/s: the same lesson can come back, until I understand. For example, since I didn’t work very well on my perfectionism in Spain, the same lesson was taught to me again…
