Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary Krakow – Prague by bus We came to the main bus station 1 hour before departure. There is a long queue to buy the tickets. We make the translation of all the destinations on the screen, you never know, but…

    Warsaw (Poland): Travel diary

Being based in Krakow, what could be easier to spend a weekend in Warsaw, only 3 hours by train from there. JB also takes the opportunity to attend the Coldplay concert in Warsaw, which cost him an arm and two legs, but it’s important to make his dreams come true This is the 2nd time I go to Warsaw. The 1st time was when I was 5 years old. My mother was sent by the government to the USSR for a 6-month training in computer development and after this training, my mother and I took the train to France, where my father was also in training. To get to France,…

Wieliczka salt mine near Krakow (Poland): Travel diary & practical advice

Everyone told us about the Wieliczka salt mine, as one of the best experiences in Poland. So, inevitably, it aroused our curiosity. Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary 2 buses, 45 minutes for 5 zloty per person (1,2€) later we arrive in Wieliczka. We have lunch at the first restaurant found on our way (and about well rated on Google). It will be the first pierogi and the last of our life, it’s so inedible 😀 5 minutes walk later we arrive at the salt mine. We already like the outside, there are lawns everywhere, many people take a nap there, there is even…

I tested for you: my opinion on the Fish Pedicure

It’s in Bangkok, Thailand that I first heard about fish pedicure when I saw tourists with their feet in an aquarium feasting on fish. Surprised and amused, we preferred a much more classic massage. The fish pedicure is a 100% natural process that consists of plunging your feet into an aquarium where small fish ( Garra rufa) will devour your dead skin. The result is supposed to be more effective than a manual or cream-based treatment. It’s far from Thailand, in Krakow (Poland) that I came across a store offering fish pedicure. Pique by curiosity, I decided to try it.Our interviewer explains to me that it is brand new and that it…

I went to the Coldplay concert in Warsaw: my opinion & feedback

On my favorite note-taking software (Evernote), I have a note with a whole list of things I want to do in the long run On thisn’te, soberly called “My dreams”, one can find, for example: Going to the desert (done) Climbing Mont Blanc (tried, but the weather conditions were not good, I will come back) Running a marathon (still needs training) Traveling around the world (it’s done 🙂 ) Parachute jumping (it was my birthday present 3 years ago but still not done) … One of those “dreams” was to attend a Coldplay concert, it was a bit laborious, but it’s done! Last October, Coldplay announced 13 concerts for the…

Visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau (Poland): trying and emotional. Travel diary

We have just returned from a long visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau. I force myself to write this article right now, now, otherwise I will not have the courage to think about it and relive the emotions that this visit aroused in me. Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary We left Krakow by train and 1h40 later we arrived at the Auschwitz train station (Oświęcim in Polish). The 20-minute walk from the station to the concentration camp (now a museum) made us realize that this camp was not in the middle of nowhere as we had imagined it to be. It was in the…

Krakow (Poland): Visit Wawel Castle, the Dragon’s Cave and Wawel Cathedral

After 2-3 working days a week, we are free to explore Krakow like real tourists. Wawel Castle was chosen to spend almost the whole day. It is one of the must-see places in the region – along with the central square – because it houses THE dragon’s cave and even a fragment of the dragon’s bones. The Wawel Dragon (in Polish: Smok Wawelski) is a famous dragon in the Polish culture and history of the city of Krakow. According to the legend, this fabulous animal lived in a cave located inside the cliff on which the Wawel Hill overlooking the Vistula rises. On this cliff stands a castle and the…

Krakow (Poland): first days, first impressions

It is June 3, 2017, one month after the end of our first world tour, we start a second one, this time as digital nomads. Our first chosen destination is Krakow, Poland. Because we haven’t travelled much in Europe and we have to take advantage of the good weather in summer to discover the Eastern countries We hesitated a lot between Warszawa (Warsaw), Wroclaw and Kracow (Krakow), but our friends convinced us to choose Krakow instead If JB takes an Easyjet to get there directly, I take a longer route with Air France and KLM with a stopover in Amsterdam, simply because I have a €100 Air France voucher to…

[The Return] Back to work after a world tour

that’s it! After 11 months of mopping, you have to get back to workat some point. We decided, after the world tour, to become full time freelance while traveling, it has a name Digital NomadMy former colleagues are super nice and sent me some docs to catch up on 1 year of changes and novelties – in my job (SEA – Online Advertising), everything changes very quickly. I started my service at the client’s place on Tuesday. The Saturday before, I went back to work (launching a campaign for a friend), just to find my reflexes and “get up to date”. It’s reassuring to realize that you haven’t lost your reflexes,…
