[Test & Reviews] Sony RX100 III, the ideal compact camera for round-the-world touring – Beginners level

It’s been more than a year since I bought the Sony RX100M3 camera (or RX100 III, Amazon link, Fnac link). It’s been halfway around the world, from the Sahara desert to the glaciers of Iceland through the Canadian forest, it’s time for me to give you a return on this camera, whose quality and size I appreciate. My level : beginner amateur photographer First of all, I must point out that I am not a photography enthusiast. I bought my first Canon EOS 1100D reflex (350€ at the time, 200€ now) for a very practical reason: I was a foster family of cats for an association and to help them…

Transfer photos from your SD card to an iPad or iPhone using an adapter

Currently in Miami, we are about to leave for 15 days of road trip by car throughout Florida. We will never sleep two nights in a row in the same place and we didn’t see ourselves leaving all our computer equipment in the car for 15 days. We thus decided to leave it in a locker in Miami. We wondered how to store the photos and videos that we were going to take because we are sure-equipped: a drone, a camera and a waterproof camera There is a very simple solution, an SD card adapter that allows you to download the contents of an SD card to an iPhone or…

[Travel Light] Our Tips for the World Tour

We went around the world with 8kg for me (Anh) and 16kg for JB. On the way, we gave up a lot of things to finish at 7-8kg for me, and 13kg for JB. How to travel light and not have back pain? Here are our tips! The backpack is so important The backpack decides everything. A quality backpack, with a reasonable capacity, here is the main key to travel light. Because psychologically, a half-empty bag = you want to fill it. So, a small bag = little stuff. If I opted for a 26L, JB opted for a 65L. If possible, avoid Decathlon bags, which are inexpensive but not…

6 Tips to get the most out of the Travel Travel Guides (Lonely Planet, le Routard) during the Round the World Tour (without wearing them)

Whether you like it or not, traveling with a guide like the Lonely Planet or the Routard can help to unblock certain situations in an emergency, such as avoiding overpaying for a cab for example. How to take advantage of it during your world tour without having to lug 17 pounds of 1kg each in your bag? 1. Download the extract of the Lonely Planet guides on the Kindle app The part I like the most in the Lonely Planet guides is the “itineraries” part. I may hate the “must-see tourist destinations” part, but I must say that these itineraries have been perfectly designed to be feasible, hassle-free and economical;…

I live with 77 objects: Contents of my Backpack Around the World (for Men)

Note: this is the content of my men’s backpack, for the content of Anh’s women’s backpack, it’s over here. When you go around the world, one of the constraints is the number of objects you take with you. The airlines limit the weight of our luggage (usually between 15 and 20 kg) and we have to fit everything in a bag. If it may seem difficult at first, this forced minimalism is finally a pleasure, almost a liberation. If I were to return to a more sedentary life, I would try to keep this philosophy as I think it contributes to my happiness. These first 6 months of experience show…

    Everything in my (women’s) Backpack for the Round the World Tour – 26L + 10L – 7/8kg

I am often asked what I put in my bag to have only between 7 and 8kg of luggage. After 6 months of traveling and extreme temperatures (from 2 degrees in New Zealand to 42 degrees in Qatar), I finally have the ideal bag with exactly what I need, I stabilize between 7.3kg (when I wear the trail shoes on me) and 8kg (when I wear the sandals and leave the trail shoes in the bag). For the contents of JB’s man bag, it is here. Note: my everyday backpack can be stored in my main bag at any time. This is especially useful when there is a risk of…

Ticket Belt Review – Eagle Creek Secret Bag

Since I’ve been traveling, I’ve been using an Eagle Creek belt every day and I’m very happy with it.Here are these interesting features: It has no holes. Thanks to its clip, you can adjust it perfectly to your size. Very practical for the weight variations you will have during your trip 🙂 No metal buckle, the clip is made of plastic. The advantage is that you won’t have to remove your belt during security checks at the airport, your belt will not ring when you pass under the security gate. A secret pocket that allows you to hide documents (copy of passport for example) or tickets. In case of a…

Reviews and Tests: Transportable Parka Women Uniqlo – Pocketable Parka for Around the World

Remember my first prize rain parka at Decathlon? The 20€ one? I wore it for my trek in Nepal and I was soaked all day. So I decided to buy another one and as I really liked my Uniqlo clothes, I decided to trust again this great Japanese brand So I bought the Transportable Parka (or Pocketable Parka). It costs 29,90€ in France but I could buy it for 25€ in Thailand (VAT is only 7% in Thailand) What interests me in this parka is the protection against rain, something that my Uniqlo jacket promises but does not realize This parka has a water-repellent coating, to the touch it looks…

DIY Mini-kit EDC: “Survival” kit for travelers in urban areas

An urban “survival” mini-kit (or EDC = Every Day Carry, a very American concept) that fits in a pants pocket, this is the challenge I set myself when I saw the list of things you should “always carry”. The list is long and scary, so you have to be clever to fit everything in a small metal box Uh, why an EDC mini-kit when you already have a pharmacy kit? The first aid kit, it is complete but heavy. I won’t be able to take it with me all the time, except during the treks. Most of the time, it will stay at the hotel. I don’t want to walk…

Travelling Light: How to go away for the weekend only with a small Longchamp bag?

Note: this article isn’t sponsored Before setting off on my round-the-world trip, I had to pass a lot of tests to make sure I could get used to my new life as a backpacker. One of the hardest tests was to learn how to travel with a minimum of stuff We often went to France for weekends because JB gave trainings all over France. And we travelled by train so the weight of the suitcases was never a problem. I often left with a big suitcase full of stuff, my hairdryer, my Clarisonic and clothes covering all 4 seasons. For 2 nights, 2 days and a half… Of course, most…
