For those who follow us, you must have understood that we like to eat a lot but cook much less. Since we travel abroad most of the year, eating outdoors is an experience we love and is the best way to discover the local gastronomy and culture.
Confined for two months in the Paris region, we had to cook for ourselves. There were a lot of delivery possibilities (which we succumbed to a few times) but it was quite expensive, we were reluctant to put the deliverymen at risk and after the burgers, pizzas, bo bun and sushi, the choice was quickly limited.
Arrived at the beginning of the deconfinement in Rouen, we find our freedom of movement but the restaurants are still not open. We cooked for two months, it wasn’t high gastronomy but we survived, but now I’m fed up 😀
That’s when I discovered the Seazon service that I recommend.
M/s: this article is NOT sponsored. The coupon code is there for you and me to enjoy it more, that’s all 🙂
Seazon: What is it?
I discovered Seazon because when I was a Parisian, I loved the FoodChéri service that offered 2 or 3 fresh dishes that changed every day, delivered in just a few minutes for about 10 euros. The dishes were very good and the service incredible. It was when I went back to FoodChéri years after my last visit that I discovered that they now had a little sister that could deliver meals for the whole week in one go: Seazon.
The logic of Seazon is that you have a subscription to watch shows (Netflix), a subscription to listen to music (Spotify), a phone subscription, a gym subscription, … why not have a subscription for food?
With Seazon, we subscribe to a service that will deliver us fresh dishes every week that we only have to reheat in the microwave (for dishes that are eaten hot) in a few minutes.
Rates
You choose the number of dishes you wish to receive per week
- at least 4 (39,90 € / week or 9,97 € the dish)
- and a maximum of 14 (92,90 € / week or 6,64 € / dish).
- The price of delivery is included in the subscription.
You can choose the day of delivery (every day of the week except Sunday) and cancel your subscription at any time.
What do we eat with Seazon?
The dishes are constantly changing and every week you can choose from among the ten or so dishes available.

Seazon claims a healthy, fresh cuisine with seasonal foods. About half of the dishes are vegetarian. Even if you choose the 14-course per week subscription, you can choose a different dish for each meal.
I see only advantages: Seazon allows me to eat a balanced diet without thinking, to reduce my meat consumption and to discover flavours that I would never have cooked or chosen spontaneously in a restaurant.
Delivery and conservation
Delivery is made in a refrigerated van by Chronofresh, a service of Chronopost. Seazon delivers everywhere in France. All the dishes are in trays in a cardboard box (which I imagined to be bigger). I find it a bit of a shame to have so much plastic but I guess Seazon has not found an efficient alternative.
My first order of 14 dishes was received on May 22nd and the best before date was 5 days later: May 27th. This forces me to freeze some of them and break the promise of “ultra-fresh” but I understand that it is impossible to do otherwise without adjuvant or preservative. In the case of freezing, Seazon recommends defrosting the dishes in the refrigerator 24 hours before consuming them. So, all you have to do is organize yourself to defrost a dish every time you consume one to enjoy it 24 hours later. Seazon offers hot dishes (to be reheated) and dishes that can be eaten cold. This may be just an impression but I have the feeling that cold dishes are less tasty after defrosting. So I’ve gotten into the habit of eating my cold dishes first to avoid freezing them.

At the time of my first order, the delivery date was quite close so some products were out of stock, so I had to choose some double dishes.

But then we can choose our dishes two weeks in advance, so I have 14 different dishes.

During my second order, I got a little surprise in the package: a small sachet of Guérande salt! It’s not much but it’s unexpected and the intention makes me happy. Thank you Seazon!
I thought I would be out of town by the time this second order was delivered, so I contacted Seazon customer service to see if the delivery could be rescheduled. I got a very quick feedback giving me some interesting details on how the deliveries are handled
- When you subscribe, you choose a day and a delivery time slot (Saturday between 8am and 1pm in my case)
- The day before: Chronopost sends us an email confirming the delivery. We then have until midnight to click on a link to shift the delivery day.
- The day of delivery, we receive an SMS indicating a more precise time slot (“between 7:30 and 9:30 am” for example).
- If Chronopost passes by and we are absent, our parcel will be deposited in a refrigerated Chronopost point. We then have 48 hours to recover it. Passed this time, too late! It will be destroyed for hygienic reasons and Seazon does not refund us.
Preparation and tasting
Each tray is accompanied by indications specifying the ingredients, the caloric intake and the reheating time. Everything is literally ready in less than 5 minutes, a huge time saving without compromising the quality of the meal. Sometimes there is a small sauce, the indications are very clear to explain us how to reheat it separately, or not.

So far, I have enjoyed all the dishes I have tasted even those involving food I am not used to having on my plate. Some of them have obviously pleased me more than others but I always finish everything 🙂
I might have liked a little more but adding a fruit or dairy is perfect for a meal.
Conclusion + promo code
I’ve been discovering Seazon’s services for a week now and I’m very satisfied with them so far. The price per dish (if you order them by 14) seems to me very correct (6,64 € / dish): it’s hardly more expensive than a sandwich that you would eat on the go. It’s more expensive than a Picard frozen dish but for an incomparable quality.
I think I will continue to enjoy these Seazon dishes throughout our stay in Rouen.
