Opinions on Inspirato Pass: The unlimited luxury travel
I had to be categorized by Facebook as a regular traveler because I was targeted some time ago by an ad from the agency Inspirato that caught my attention. The principle: for a monthly subscription, you can book luxury accommodations, cruises or activities on an unlimited basis, without any additional fees.
When I saw that, I had a wow effect but let’s see it in more detail.
The Inspirato Pass offer
Inspirato is an American company that exists since 2010 and markets theInspirato Pass
The Inspirato Pass allows you to book luxury accommodation in 218 destinations around the world. Experiences like a safari in Kenya. Or even a week’s cruise in the Caribbean.
And the accommodation on offer is rather upscale, this isn’t a youth hostel with a shared bathroom.

The magic is that you can make as many reservations as you want. You won’t have to pay any additional fees or taxes other than your Inspirato Pass membership.
The person who has the pass can invite as many people as the capacity of the accommodation (the accommodation offered is for up to 21 people) without any additional cost.
As a permanent traveler who can work from anywhere without geographical constraints, my jaw dropped when I imagined myself becoming a member.
Problem #1: Price
Well, let’s talk about the subjects that annoy us: price. You can imagine that it’s not free.
The Inspirato Pass costs $2,500 per month, knowing that i is an annual subscription.
We are therefore on $30,000 per year or €26,700 during the day (June 2020).
I had calculated in this article that our Parisian accommodation, all included, cost us €1,287 / month or €15,444 per year.
We’re not far from double that’s a lot. But it’s not delirious either, we’re talking about luxury accommodations which must be worth several hundreds of euros per night.
If you manage to live 100% of the time in Inspirato homes, it can be a reflection (even if you have to scrape the bottom of the drawers).
Problem #2: Maximum duration
Another problem: each accommodation has a maximum number of nights. An accommodation in Utah offers a maximum stay of 56 nights (which is already huge!) Especially since the lodging is at the foot of the ski slopes, it’s a must!) but the average is around 5 nights for each reservation.
You’re going to have to be pretty organized to fully optimize the Inspirato Pass and try to use it nearly 365 days a year.
Problem #3: One reservation at the same time
That’s when my dream fell apart: we can’t plan several bookings at once to optimize our subscription as much as possible. You are only allowed one reservation at any given time.
Inspirato offers an option to have a second reservation simultaneously but this option doubles the subscription price to $5,000 per month. Tough…
Who is Inspirato Pass for?
Not to me, that’s for sure ^^.
And to tell the truth, I have trouble understanding who the target is. A very high-end clientele given the price, that’s for sure.
But if we assume that each night booked with Inspirato Pass is valued at $1,000, it would take at least 30 nights a year to make the subscription profitable.
Does this very wealthy clientele really need Inspirato? Since they aren’t concerned about spending, wouldn’t they prefer to have a much wider choice than the Inspirato catalog?
In all cases Inspirato has been around for 10 years, so they have probably found their customers.
If you have any feedback, I’m interested 🙂
