Subscribe to Free Mobile on an interactive kiosk
I’ve already mentioned that Free Mobile is an excellent subscription for travelers because it is possible to switch from the €2 to the €20 plan and vice versa whenever you want. The €2 plan is minimalist and mainly allows you to keep your phone number and receive SMS messages anywhere in the world. The €20 package allows you to use 25 GB of internet in about 60 countries. This is particularly interesting in countries like Canada, the United States or Australia where mobile Internet is very expensive.
For nomads like us who no longer have a fixed address, Free also offers to subscribe directly via interactive terminals. In 10 minutes, you leave with a SIM card ready to use. Very practical!
I already have a subscription but Anh wanted one too before we go abroad
What is a Free interactive kiosk?
An interactive kiosk is a simple kiosk with a touch screen. It allows you to perform a range of operations: subscription, SIM card replacement, bill payment, …
These terminals are primarily designed for people who do not have Internet but are very practical for people who do not have a fixed address or who do not have time to wait a few days for a SIM card.

Where to find a Free interactive kiosk?
The interactive kiosks are available in Free stores but also (and above all) at many partner newsagents.
The coverage of these bollards is very good throughout the territory and there is a good chance that you will find one close to your home.

How does the subscription procedure work?
It’s really very simple. Free says it takes 3 minutes. When you do it for the first time like I did, I would say it takes more like 10 minutes. Anyway it’s fast and efficient.
No ID, no proof of address, the only thing you need is a bank card that will allow you to pay the SIM card (10 €) and the first month of subscription (2 or 20 €) depending on the package you choose.
For those who want a temporary subscription, it is even possible to subscribe for only one month.

You can choose between several phone numbers.

You must then choose the type of SIM card you want. If you make a mistake, it will always be possible to make a SIM replacement but you will have to pay an additional €10.

You must then pay with your credit card and fill in your name, surname, address and e-mail.
Then comes your SIM card ready to use and a proof of payment containing your login and password to connect to the customer area.

Note: if you have several subscriptions, it is then possible to link them all to one main account. This is more convenient to have a single billing.
