[PCR test] Split – Dubrovnik and the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina

A quick article to reassure you for the crossing of Bosnia from Split to Dubrovnik.

By going from Split to Dubrovnik (with Flixbus for example), you will cross a small part of Bosnia.

If Bosnia asks for a PCR test of less than 48h for all the other borders, this one will not ask for PCR test results.

Rest assured, this border is only a formality, so that Bosnia has access to the sea and has all the benefits it can get from.

Croatia – Bosnia – Croatia

It’s like the little piece of Chile that you have to cross to reach Ushuaia, there are no big difficulties.

We entered Croatia on December 17th with a negative PCR test carried out on December 16th in Rome. On December 18th, we took the bus and crossed the border of Bosnia on the Split-Dubrovnik road
.

Our PCR test being already not valid any more (> 48h) but we crossed it without problem, in both countries.

here is how the border looks like

Upon entering Bosnia, an official will get on the bus to collect the passports of all passengers and leave with them. Don’t worry, he comes back a few minutes later.

Then, when you leave Bosnia, you will have to get off the bus, enter a tiny office and show your passport to another official, that’s all.

If you were able to enter Croatia, you will be able to make this way Split – Dubrovnik without being asked for a test.

By the way, it is well indicated on the site of the Belgian travel council:

The transit via the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina by Neum (“corridor of Neum”) remains possible (in one day and on condition that you do not stop along the way), without having to make a test.
