[review] Dolce By Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake, 5-star hotel in Hanoi (Vietnam)
Right after JB’s recovery in Nha Trang, in September 2022, I felt we needed to recharge our energy somewhere, and a friend of my mother’s told me that the hotel Dolce By Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake (Booking link) in Hanoi had excellent energy. We booked a night there.
But first, let me show you the photos of Cam Ranh from the sky! (we had to fly back to Hanoi).
I know the hotel a bit Dolce By Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake, I had already had the lunch buffet there. My mother’s friend lives not far away, and we talked about me inviting her family to the hotel buffet, but we never found the time to go. One day, the opportunity came up, and I was able to give them 1 hour’s notice and book the buffet in a rush (luckily there were still spots, there are always very few left at noon). I was waiting for them in the taxi at the exit of their alley when one of their acquaintances arrived (without an appointment) and she lingered for a long time (surely so that I would give in and invite her too). That girl had such a negative aura that I remember it to this day. She’s very talented in traditional medicine, but very rich because she manages to cure any patient. Having her at our table would have completely ruined the experience.
I will remember this buffet for the rest of my life, not only because it was good and varied, but because it was the first and last time I could invite Q., the daughter of my mother’s friend, to lunch. Because she left us in early 2024. Every year, Facebook reminds me of this buffet full of good memories and reminds me that life is truly too short. Sometimes, you don’t get a second chance. Everything you can do right now, you must do it! This trip to the end of the world? It’s now, because we don’t know what the future holds.
After the buffet, I asked to access the hotel pool (just to take photos), and the hotel employee was so kind that she lent me a key card to take the elevator up to the rooftop pool. Q.’s son, not having followed the conversation, thought I had a magic card that could open any door. He still talks about me to his family, very impressed by my powers and my magic card. After the buffet, I was told he had grown a lot and his personality had changed: he became more confident and more dynamic. I love giving cool experiences to little boys, little girls… because it gives them a concrete example of what they can achieve later, after working hard at school, it creates a little goal for them. For children, sometimes all it takes is a boost from a complete stranger to motivate them.
A few months after that buffet, so after JB’s recovery, we returned to the hotel for a night to recharge our energy. The hotel has this peculiarity of being golden… everywhere, everywhere!!! We didn’t take the most expensive room, so only the sink and the bathtub are gold, but the more expensive rooms also have gold toilets hahaha. The rooftop pool is also gold… There’s even a certificate in the lobby saying it’s the hotel with the most gold objects in the world : 120,000 square meters gilded with 24k gold on the exterior (mosaics), 225 square meters gilded for the pool, 410,747 objects gilded with 24k gold, 39 dishes and drinks served with gold leaf. Listen, I don’t know why you Europeans find this hotel bling bling when the churches in Italy probably have more gold than that 😀
Anyway, it was an interesting experience, I slept well in this hotel. If you don’t stay there (because the hotel is a bit out of the way), you can opt for its lunch buffet.
