[DIY] Leather Case for My Hermès Lipstick – Small Leather Goods for Beginners
A very long time ago, I saw on the Hermès website that they sold sheaths (leather cases) for their own lipsticks. I thought the idea was really smart and fun. However, the price is too high, so I kept it as a DIY idea.

I have a small stock of leathers with me, but I opted for goatskin on the outside, and swift calf leather for the lining. The softness and smooth feel of the swift will help the lipstick slide out of its case.

This project is so simple that you don’t even need a pattern. You just cut two rectangles and make sure they wrap the lipstick well (while leaving a few millimeters for the saddle stitch).

After sewing the two ends with a discreet thread, it’s time to use a contrasting thread and work the edges.

Here’s the final result:

It took me 1h30 in total. I’m very very happy with the result. My friends seem to agree as well because they end up in my friends’ bags now 🙂
I think this can be a very fun project for beginners.
