DIY: circular scarf with secret pocket for Passeport, money etc.
This type of scarf is particularly suitable for travelers who wish to hide their passport. Because pickpockets will try to steal bags, wallets, smartphones etc. Nobody (yet) thinks of stealing scarves.
You need :– Opaque fabric (I used cotton, but you can use sweat/ fleece for more warmth)- A zipper (or invisible zipper if you know how to mount this type of closure)
- Cut a rectangle of 60cmx100cm (for the scarf) + a rectangle of 30cmx50cm (for the pocket)
- Add the zippered pocket. Technique explained here :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1pQ19a8pMM I chose to attach the pocket to the scarf via 2 zigzag points at the bottom of the pocket.
- Close the circular scarf and finish with an invisible hand stitching
- Admire the result.
Well, you can see clearly that I’m not a sewing pro but even with a hyper visible thread and seams not at all impeccable, the fact that the zipper is hidden inside (5cm from the edge of the scarf) makes the pocket really secret.Cost: 5€ of fabricTime: 1H30
