Reviews and Tests: Geox NEBULA&#x2122 Women’s Shoes, Designed for Around the World

After a year of world tour, our shoes are well worn, we had to buy new ones.

I wanted comfortable walking shoes in an urban environment (since we don’t trek anymore), with a rather classy look. And it’s while reading the description of Nebula shoes at Geox that I decided to buy them.

Designed to go around the world, perfect in all seasons, it adapts naturally to every movement of the foot. It’s the ideal shoe for people who don’t sacrifice style, personality when traveling, or comfort. Try them on, you’ll feel like you’re walking on a cloud.

So, are they made to go around the world?

Answer: NO

Why? They are rather designed for digital nomads like us, i.e. who travel a lot, who walk a lot but stay for most of the time in an urban environment. I wouldn’t recommend these shoes for a trek in the mountains.

Are they comfortable at least?

Answer: YES

These shoes accompanied me for long walks in Seville, you know, a city where almost everything is done on foot. It didn’t feel like I was walking on a cloud, but my feet never hurt at the end of the day, from the first use.

Are they really breathable?

Answer: YES

Geox doesn’t lie to us about that. With sports or trail shoes, I usually have to wear very breathable socks + a breathable sole. But with these GEOX shoes, even the least breathable socks do the job. My feet stay dry and clean. Once, I forgot to check the weather forecast before going out, I had these shoes on even though it was 30°C, so my feet didn’t get warm.

This sneaker is equipped with an exclusive patented Geox sole that allows a 360° ventilation thanks to the Net Breathing System and the 3D mesh lining.

What happens when it rains?

When it doesn’t rain too much, everything is fine.

On the other hand, when it rains cords, already, the outside of the shoe does not protect you from the rain. You would have had to buy an extra rain spray from GEOX, or hide somewhere until the rain lets up.

In case of heavy rain or when walking in large puddles, watergets into the shoes via the outsole! The proof in the picture :

Update in 2020: the brand released an improved model, still called NEBULA. I walked in the rain during the 14 days of road trip in Belgium and Germany and I have no more water infiltration problem at all

Well yes, because there are holes under the sole, which allows perspiration to evacuate, but unfortunately water also infiltrates into the sole

In short, I recommend them for urban use in a city where it doesn’t snow or rain too much.

I recommend them to those who have to wear closed shoes even in summer.

I recommend them to those who want comfort while remaining presentable.

But I don’t recommend it for tourists. It is better to buy gore-tex trail shoes at Merrell for example.
