[Thoughts] #7: Working on the first impression, The elevator pitch

When you are interested in personal development, there are many ways to do it: read specialized books, pay a coach, do meditation etc. but I am lucky enough to have stumbled upon “a textbook case”: Matthew Hussey, a “self-proclaimed dating guru”. He has no qualifications, no references, one day he created his YouTube account to help women find their soul mate, he released a book (which became a New York Times bestseller) and since then, he hangs out with several “Hollywood A-list stars”, he gives several times a year a 3-day seminar where women pay 6000$ to listen to his advice – only to find no husband in the end.…

St. Peter’s Square and the Basilica without Tourists – Rome (Italy) #3

Did you like the photo highlighted at the beginning of this article? That’s what it looks like when Rome is empty of tourists. In other words, happiness! After “privatizing” the Sistine Chapel, we walk along the Vatican walls to reach St. Peter’s Square, empty of tourists. Part 1: Travel Diary Part 2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary Many of you liked this picture on Instagram so I give it to you here. This dress was custom made in Vietnam, I love it because I don’t need to iron it 😀 it is particularly compatible with our nomadic lifestyle. It looks too good on the pictures. The hat was bought from…

Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel without tourists – Rome (Italy) #2

This article should rather be entitled “How we privatized the Sistine Chapel” because we felt so VIP After giving myself a few days of rest (the famous vacations after the vacations), the glandouille is no longer allowed because time is running out: Rome is huge and there are so many things to visit. The Vatican is obviously the first place to visit among the paying tourist places: we are very excited to go to a “new country” even if it is the smallest one that exists. note: this is one of the few articles where I advise you to read on computer to better admire the pictures Part 1: Travel…

Rome (Italy) #1: Our first days & our Airbnb

Paris – Rome This time the vacations are really over. After returning the car in Rouen, we take the train to Paris, then an Uber to the Citizen M hotel near Terminal 3 in Charles-de-Gaulle. I highly recommend this hotel which is really tip top(link Booking). It is particularly suitable for business travelers, with many tables to work, fiber optics. The room is ultra modern (we manage the television, the light and the curtains with a tablet. You can even change the color of the light in the shower. It’s useless but it’s fun). And it is only 20 meters from Terminal 3. So no need of shuttle/bus/taxi to go…

How to Receive Parcels in Italy? Relay, Lockers, Poste Restante, Fermopoint

You have the standard solution: directly at home in Italy. I’ve seen a lot of delivery people, who make the effort to ring the bell at people’s homes. However, if you are away, as the Italian mailbox is often small, they won’t hesitate to leave the package in the hall (even if the front door is open). As an ex-parisian, it stresses me a lot lol. This option isn’t possible for me because the intercom at my home in Rome does not work :'( If you are traveling and staying on Airbnb, you must encounter the same problem. How can I receive my mail or parcels in Italy when I…

[Bloggers’ Life] – Thoughts during Covid, Part 3

This article is unstructured, it will go in all directions, but I would just like to take a moment to write you and reveal, once again, the behind-the-scenes of the blog. I think it’s interesting and especially useful for me to track the progress of the blog, which is now part of my daily life I work in digital marketing and more precisely Google Adwords. I have a big client and several small clients since we are digital nomads. The contract with my big client was supposed to end at the end of March 2020 and we were supposed to be in Vietnam at the end of February. The blog…

Loire Valley Castles: Cheverny, Chissay & le Clos LucĂ© – Road Trip in France #25

After the Marais Poitevin, we are supposed to attend the show la CinĂ©scĂ©nie du Puy du Fou but because of Covid, our tickets were unfortunately cancelled, the park only honors reservations made by customers staying in one of their hotels. So, instead of spending a few days in Nantes, we came back to Pays de la Loire, to JB’s parents’ home. Note: this blog article is part of the “Road Trip in France” made in August 2020.
