12 days in Peru: Itinerary, budget, guide, advice

There are two places in Peru that we wanted to visit absolutely: Machu Picchu and the lake Titicaca on the Peruvian side. Because of the lack of time, we did not devote the time that it was necessary to visit the surroundings of these two zones. Itinerary Cusco (3 days) : night bus from Copacabana (Bolivia). Rest and visit of the Sacred Valley with an agency Machu Picchu (3 days) : train from Ollantaytambo and two nights in Aguas Calientes Cusco (2 days) : rest, visit of Rainbow Mountain Puno (2 days): night bus from Cusco. Rest. Lake Titicaca: Visit of Uros Island, Floating Islands and Taquile Island Back to…

One month in Chile: Itinerary, balance sheet, budget, guide, advice

We didn’t expect to stay in Chile for so long. Apart from Easter Island, we had no other must-see planned for Chile. The beginnings were not simple: Chilean Spanish sounded like a slap in the face: incomprehensible. But we didn’t give up: after Argentina, we went back there to travel the whole country, from South to North. Itinerary Easter Island (4 days): Round-the-world ticket from Papeete. Visit of the island with a 4×4 Santiago (3 days) : Round the world ticket. Linguistic shock. We tried to understand Chilean Spanish, but without success. Hence our rather precipitous departure for Argentina Punta Arenas (1 day): Flight from Santiago. Visit of Magallanes Island…

The inconveniences encountered during the trip

The trip is certainly fabulous, but there are, and this is normal, moments when you don’t see life in pink anymore, when you don’t enjoy your trip as much because of some inconveniences. It’s something rather guilt-ridden that travelers talk about very little, for fear of being judged. And when it happens to world travelers, the guilt is multiplied by 10 because we are privileged. “You travel the world for a year and you complain, unbelievable” I found it best to share this feeling with other travelers, because everyone has been there. And when you are warned that slack can occur, you will be better prepared and react more positively…

Road Trip New Zealand in 27 days: Itinerary, Travel Guide and Budget

This article gives you our detailed 27-day itinerary to show you that it is possible to visit all the must-see places in the NZ in less than a month. For a brief description (and photos) of the cities visited, I invite you to consult the itineraries made by the pros of the NZ, Kiwipal as this article is already quite long. We took inspiration from these itineraries(even if they are unfortunately poor in terms of travel time estimation) to establish our own. We started our journey in Christchurch and ended up in Auckland (the van rental is cheaper in that direction). The total journey by car is 5500km, the equivalent…

Philippines: 18-day itinerary, budget and advice

We hadn’t planned to go to the Philippines but to sulk China (which is in cold with Vietnam, my country), we wanted to choose a friendly country in Southeast Asia: the Philippines This is THE country of digital nomads. We have chosen to explore only 2 regions during this first trip to the Philippines: Palawan & Mindoro, to get a glimpse of the Filipino aquatic world and also to try to understand why so many French people are expatriating here Our itinerary We are quite proud of this route which is optimal (in our opinion) in terms of the sequence of different transports. There are several days where you spend…

Review: Couchsurfing during the round the world tour

You have probably heard of couchsurfing. Strangers will host you in their homes, free of charge. You will sleep on the ground, in their garden, most of the time on their couch, or, more rarely, in a guest room. It’s a kind of “I’ll sleep at your place” and it’s more organized because it’s often planned in advance You too can host travelers in your home. The goal is to have a cultural exchange, and live like locals I decided to rely on this network for my world tour.   First as a host in Paris. I was able to meet travelers coming from the destinations I will be visiting…

17 days in Thailand: Our itinerary, Country Travel Guide & Budget

Thailand has been added to the list for a simple reason of cost: the plane ticket between Kathmandu and Mandalay is too expensive. Going through Bangkok reduces this cost by -50%. That’s how we found ourselves for two weeks in Thailand, a country we have never visited before but from which we heard so much good that we had to check it out for ourselves. We went there in August 2016, in the middle of the monsoon. Here is our itinerary for 17 days Bangkok (2 nights) : Late arrival in the evening. We could only visit Wat Po. The rest of the time was spent shopping, eating and eating…
