[Review] NIOD MMHC 2 Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex for Dehydrated Skin – Before/After Photos

I’ve just discovered a new brand: NIOD. It’s been around for ages, but I finally dared to splurge on the brand’s three bestsellers: CAIS 2, MMHC2, and S0.I reviewed CAIS 2 here, and S0 here, so here’s my review of MMHC 2. Packaging Compared to The Ordinary, NIOD’s packaging is super classy. However, the bottle is made of tinted glass (to protect the product from light), and you have to be careful because it breaks very easily. Since it’s very liquid, one clumsy move and the bottle spills its entire contents. Given the price of the serum, keep it in a safe place. Texture & Scent In general, hyaluronic acid…

[Review] NIOD S0 Survival 0, an Innovative Antioxidant

A quick review Survival 0 is in order because it’s one of the must-haves at NIOD. Note: it’s 0 (zero), not O.If you’re not familiar with the NIOD brand, I’ve already done a general overview here. The brand was founded by Brandon Truaxe, who claims that if he had to take 2 products to a desert island, they would be NIOD CAIS 2 , and S0 What is it? S0 is part of the protection line consisting of 4 products: S0, S10, S20, S30.The other three have sun protection. Only S0 doesn’t, because it’s meant to be used in the evening. S0 is an antioxidant, designed to protect the skin…

[Review] NIOD CAIS2 Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 for Sensitized Skin (acne, rosacea, texture, sensitivity) – Before / After Photos

This summer, due to the heatwave and having to wear a COVID mask at all times, my skin has had enough: it feels attacked and has been really weakened. It’s starting to go red for no reason, even though I’m not prone to rosacea. I thought about slathering on B5 (from Skinceuticals), but I’m game, so I’m going to try other things. I noticed that my skin was soothed and redness disappeared whenever I used The Ordinary’s Buffet + Copper Peptides 1% serum (which contains copper peptides), so I decided to invest in a higher-end, better-formulated product containing copper peptides: NIOD CAIS2, which is from the same DECIEM group. Apparently,…

    NIOD: Reviews & Best-Sellers Overview – Before/After Photos 3 Weeks

NIOD is a brand from DECIEM, which also includes Hylamide, The Chemistry Brand, and The Ordinary in its lineup. DECIEM is a Canadian company based in Toronto. All products are still manufactured in Canada. The Story of DECIEM The story of DECIEM is the story of its founder, Brandon Truaxe, who unfortunately left us too soon. After several years at Indeed Labs, he decided to leave and start his own company, DECIEM (a Latin word meaning TEN, like the TEN brands he would create). Due to his previous experience at Indeed Labs, he had a 3-year non-compete clause preventing him from creating any facial products. So instead, Brandon launched dietary…

[Review] AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution from The Ordinary, a TikTok phenomenon

During lockdown, people started taking good care of their skin. And on TikTok, we saw a wave of videos featuring influencers with red faces, as they slathered on The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Result: worldwide stock shortage at retailers (like Sephora for example). On Amazon, the fakes are blooming (red liquid added into authentic used bottles). The smartest ones buy the product by the fifty and resell it at a premium on Leboncoin or Vinted. Only The Ordinary’s official website continues to sell it. Given its low price, I got it to test it, thinking “it’s just a fad, it’ll pass.” But I was wrong, this…

The Ordinary Acne Routine: Niacinamide Zinc, Salicylic Acid, Azelaic Acid, Alpha Arbutin

I talked about my complete routine for adult acne here. But if your budget is ultra-limited and you only want to use these products The Ordinary, here is my routine for you.The links point either to The Ordinary’s official site or to Sephora. The prices are identical on both sites but The Ordinary has more stock, Sephora is often out of stock. Careful, all these products are highly concentrated in active ingredients, use 3 to 4 drops for the entire face each time. The routine already takes into account compatibility between active ingredients. This post is not NOT sponsored Morning Cleansing with thermal water Treatment serum: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + 1% Zinc…

[Review] The Ordinary 100% Niacinamide Powder – 100% Niacinamide Powder

This is the latest release from The Ordinary. Following complaints from people who would have loved a niacinamide serum but who don’t like the 1% Zinc in the serum Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, The Ordinary has just released its powder, containing 100% niacinamide. 100% Niacinamide Powder, 20g for €5.80, is on sale only on The Ordinary’s official website for now What’s it for? Let’s just remind ourselves what niacinamide does: Niacinamide is a water-soluble B3 vitamin, ultra-hydrating. It improves the skin’s barrier function by stimulating the synthesis of lipids, limiting water loss and fighting dryness. It stimulates collagen production (reduces wrinkles), has an anti-inflammatory effect (against acne), and reduces…

The Best Anti-Aging Cream at €9: The Chemistry Brand Intense Youth Complex

This article is dedicated to Dominique, a globe-trotting reader I had the immense pleasure of meeting in person at Rome <3She asked me what I could recommend as an anti-aging cream. She travels a lot and doesn’t necessarily have the time to take care of her skin. Tough question. The basic routine is: cleanse – moisturize – protect. But for travelers or lazy people who have neither the space nor the time for a full beauty routine, you need a cream that can moisturize, repair – but that you can use on your face, décolleté, hands, and body. Such a cream exists, and it only costs €9, it’s: Intense Youth…

My Favourite Addresses in Rouen: Spas, Restaurants, Small Businesses

After 2.5 months in Rouen, we appreciate this city more or less. It is only 1h15 by train from Paris, people are 10 times nicer, everything is 5-10 minutes walk away… there are many small shops, conscientious specialized doctors (with easy appointment). Here are my favorite addresses (completed also by the owner of my Airbnb in Rouen). Rituals from Elsewhere Address: 17 Rue des Arsins, 76000 RouenGoogle MapsWebsite: http: //www.rituelsdailleurs.fr/ I should have tried other spas in Rouen, but I like this spa so much that I frankly didn’t feel like going anywhere else. They use the whole range of the “Charme d’Orient” brand, based on argan oil. Their oil…
