[Review] NIOD MMHC 2 Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex for Dehydrated Skin – Before/After Photos

I’ve just discovered a new brand: NIOD. It’s been around for ages, but I finally dared to splurge on the brand’s three bestsellers: CAIS 2, MMHC2, and S0.
I reviewed CAIS 2 here, and S0 here, so here’s my review of MMHC 2.

Packaging

Compared to The Ordinary, NIOD’s packaging is super classy. However, the bottle is made of tinted glass (to protect the product from light), and you have to be careful because it breaks very easily. Since it’s very liquid, one clumsy move and the bottle spills its entire contents. Given the price of the serum, keep it in a safe place.

Texture & Scent

In general, hyaluronic acid serums have a viscous texture, but this one is very liquid, like water. I don’t put it on my hand because it absorbs too quickly. I apply it directly to my skin using the dropper. This texture receives a lot of criticism because it feels like you haven’t applied much, but I assure you that you don’t need much to see results (4 drops for the whole face).

For those who love slathering on multiple products (Asian layering), this is great because you can do your 10-step routine without having a layer 5cm thick.

There’s no smell, well, a discreet smell, but it doesn’t smell good either. Once applied to the face, you don’t feel or smell anything.

Note: Like all hyaluronic acid serums, you need to seal it in afterward with a moisturizer.

Results

On its own, I don’t see incredible results on my skin. In fact, my skin is well-hydrated to begin with (because I have a good routine and I really, really love hydrating masks), so honestly, in terms of hydration, I don’t notice a significant difference.

However, when combined with CAIS 2 at night, my skin looks great the next day : repaired and rested, very soft with much, much less texture. You no longer see red marks from healing breakouts. That’s really nice, especially since my skin is quite damaged right now due to unfavorable conditions (face masks, heatwave…)

Here are the before/after photos after 6 weeks of using CAIS 2 & MMHC 2. I hope I don’t shock anyone. It’s my skin; it’s not perfect, but it’s healing. The breakouts are gone, even on days when I wear a mask all day. Maskne is behind me, hallelujah; now I just need to deal with the spots.

Brandon Truaxe claims that the CAIS / MMHC duo provides more anti-aging effects than any vitamin C, which says a lot!

Both CAIS 2 and MMHC 2 can be applied around the eyes, so make the most of it! It doesn’t sting the skin or the eyes at all…

I’ll be back in 3 months, once I finish the serum, to give you a full before/after. But the results after 3 weeks are so great that I couldn’t help but share them with you.
