Trouville-sur-Mer and Deauville out of season: beaches as far as the eye can see

Trouville-sur-Mer is one of the must-sees recommended by Lonely Planet. It is specifically indicated that you have to come here to enjoy the oyster bars. Unfortunately, we were too hungry and ate in the previous stopover town. As a result, this city loses all its interest ahahha 😀

I came to this area with JB a few years ago, but we always chose a rainy/cloudy day out of season to get there.

Trouville-sur-Mer and Deauville without tourists, well, they totally lose their charm. I didn’t think I’d ever say it, but I still miss the tourists a bit 🙂 Without them, we miss this “vacations in the sun” atmosphere.

There are therefore only villas, absolutely magnificent houses with closed shutters on the beach.

We were invited to a villa of this type but in Brittany a few years ago. I always wondered what it was like to have a house right on the beach, and frankly, it wasn’t bad at all. Tanning is more fun from the deckchair in the garden than on a towel full of sand. Disadvantages: a lot of maintenance because the house is constantly attacked by salt and tourists looking or taking pictures of the garden, the house… and us. Exactly like what I am doing hihihi

The wind is blowing very hard and makes me tired. We decide to make a detour by the beach of Deauville before going back home. It is too cold to take advantage of our small excursion.

I haven’t been to the beach often in summer in France. So I’m very curious to see what’s hidden inside those cabins bearing the names of movie stars. I have been told about these famous parasols in summer “circus cabins” style, but there isn’thing today. We’ll have to come back this summer to see all that.

The buildings are very nice, but it’s a bit too standardized, I find the villas of Trouville sur Mer more charming.

We go to the famous Casino de Deauville. This casino, which impressed us a few years ago, has become very small in our eyes. Because since then we have visited massive and famous casinos in Macau and Las Vegas. Deauville makes “small player” next door. But also more affordable because slot machine bets start at only 1 cent.

Inside, a mask must be worn and every second seat is condemned.

We will end this day by a small detour to Ikea to buy me an office chair. Tomorrow, we will take the car again to explore other small French villages.
