July 2020 Favorites: French Brands made in France
“Thanks to Covid, we were able to stay in France for a long time. I took the opportunity to test some French brands, which are inaccessible to me on the other side of the planet.
Jewelry
My favorite jewelers. It is handmade, customizable and made in France of course. You can even visit their workshops.

- Beautiful Accident (of which I spoke here): jeweler who makes extraordinary models, 100% customizable, from the size, to the choice of materials and stones. Bruno is in the Marais.
- Black Iris : my jewelry teacher, she makes jewelry inspired by the ocean, the sea. To see her creations, you have to contact her because she doesn’t necessarily upload them on Facebook. Iris is in Levallois.
- Thierry Grave My jewelry teacher, he loves big jewelry, in silver or gold. He makes custom jewelry and also gives one week jewelry workshops twice a year. Thierry is in Montmartre
- FMBCreations : bracelets and necklaces made of stones – precious, semi-precious – fully customizable. I contacted them for a bracelet composed of 7 stones and the order was processed in 2 working days. The manufacturing is in France, the stones come from all over the world, from reliable sources and the jewels are delivered with certificate.
- The Belfry workshop à Rouen can create a new jewel for you from the old jewelry you don’t like anymore. Instead of letting the jewels that no longer fit you sleep, you can have them repaired at home, or remade and made into something else.
Cosmetics
Nominoë
Despite the difficulties linked to Covid, Nominoë, the high-end organic brand made in Brittany, still stands for our greatest joys. The brand’s best-seller is their cleansing foam. Just press the pump to get a creamy foam. The advantage of having a cleansing foam instead of a cleansing milk, for example, is to have a softer texture for my skin, using less product, while guaranteeing effectiveness. This is the cleanser I used to save my skin from the problems associated with containment. My Japanese cleanser was empty and it was impossible to get my hands on it. Nominoë’s cleansing foam was able to soothe redness and imperfections, while leaving skin supple and hydrated.
Travel format at 12,8€ (link), full size format 26,5€ (link).

Melchior & Balthazar
The main ingredient (argan oil) has to be imported from Morocco, but Melchior & Balthazar’s argan oil soaps, the best in the world, are made in France, still in the traditional way. Everything is made in France, including the packaging (glass bottle of the oils). I have already talked about this brand here. My favorite: the orange blossom soap, certified organic & vegan, cold saponified and contains very fine pieces of loofah for the exfoliating effect. Price: from 12€

Peasant Laboratory
The donkey milk soaps from this producer are just superb. Everything is produced and made in Corrèze(link). I like it very much! The soaps have no smell, but they are efficient, that’s all we ask. These soaps are cold saponified and they are so soft that you can use them for the face. In Rouen, there is a store that sells them if you don’t like to order online. Otherwise, all the Mademoiselle Bio stores distribute them.
Clothing & Accessories
It’s hard to find brands of clothing made 100% in France so I haven’t found anything and I don’t have anything to recommend at the moment.
I told you about Gaâla which uses upcycling fabric but the manufacturing is done in Belarus. You also have Bonne Gueule who makes men’s clothing, the manufacturing and fabrics are 100% European.
For scarves, I have two names to give you
- Hermès, French luxury, made in Lyon: I talked about Hermès squares here. Count 175€ minimum
- A Piece of Chic, also made in Lyon. Vintage universe, rather masculine but we still find unisex pieces like this scarf. The silk twill is made in France, as well as the silk printing. You can order directly on their website. I ordered from chic barbers Tonsor & Cie based in Toulouse because my scarf was on sale there. Count 45€ minimum

Lingerie
Rulers panties
Lemahieu ‘s workshop was requisitioned to make barrier masks during the containment. Recently, however, they have been making menstrual panties. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to test them, but the opinions are very positive. The panties start at 30€/unit if you buy kits. You can find them here. The workshops are in Saint-André-lez-Lille in the Hauts-de-France. And the fabrics are certified organic.
Lingerie
It is difficult to find real brands of lingerie made 100% in France, while offering correct prices, because it is a sought-after know-how and quite expensive raw materials. You will find the list of the 60 brands made in France here (pdf file). Be careful before ordering, because some brands have not survived Covid. I advise you to contact the customer service via Facebook or email before ordering.
Socks
The sock of France mobilized during the crisis to manufacture effective barrier masks with their quality fabric. They also manufacture socks, as their name suggests, including specific models for running(link). I didn’t have the opportunity to test them but my friends validate them. Count 20€/pair
Pépin socks is a brand new brand, 100% made in France. The design is super cute, but the particularity is that they sell the socks individually. They go a little higher than standard socks though(link). Idem, I didn’t have the opportunity to test them but one of my girlfriend is delighted. Count 16€/pair

Forest Blue i love the design, the lightness of the socks, but also the composition. My favorite model is in silk, ohlala what a pleasure for the feet! They also make tights but I haven’t been able to test them yet.(link) Count 10€/pair
Food
Seazon, which prepares small, well-balanced dishes and delivers by Chronopost while respecting the cold chain. We have taken advantage of it this summer and here is our detailed review
Tea
Wild Cloud is created by my childhood friend Van. While the organic and fair trade tea is imported from Vietnam, the preparation of the aromas and the packaging is done in France.
She sells rare teas on her online store, such as Shan tea, which comes from the century-old wild tea trees at the top of the mountain.
A tea store in Paris will be opened soon too: https: //nuagesauvage.fr/

I hope this list has given you some ideas. Soon we will be going on a tour of France and will be able to give you more ideas of restaurants and regional specialties.
