[Behind the Scenes] My New Blog About Cosmetics: Mehach.com

It’s after much thought that I’ve decided to launch a new blog, which will mainly talk about cosmetics.

I even created an Instagram account @mehach.beauty and a Facebook account separately. I hope you’ll follow me there.

This new blog will allow me to talk more about my tons of cosmetics, my current books, and my DIY passions. I like doing long reviews of every product I use, so I think it’s better to have a dedicated space where I don’t feel limited, either in the number of posts or in characters.

Why create a new blog?

Several reasons push me to create a new blog:

• some readers don’t understand why I mix travel & cosmetics.
• Then, for those who are only interested in my “cosmetics” posts, it’s very hard for them to follow the blog and be aware of new “cosmetics” posts being published, because out of 10 posts, there’s only 1 about cosmetics and 9 about travel.
• I contacted some cosmetics brands for a possible partnership, and their answers were unanimous: “no”. When they looked at my blog (2 seconds), they couldn’t understand how I could cover such different topics within the same blog. As if I could only have a single interest in my life. So if I wanted to hope to do a giveaway one day, to get advertisers’ help, I had to, unfortunately, do like everyone else: one blog = one topic :'( I’m sorry I couldn’t resist the pressure and the dictate to keep everything in one place.
• This blog wasn’t planned to be available in multiple languages. By creating a new blog (Mehach), I’ll be able to offer posts at least in French and English. I also wanted, through my blog, to introduce European cosmetics to non-Europeans, and writing in English had to be, in my opinion, the first step. With Mehach, whether it’s the blog, the Instagram account, or the Facebook account, everything is available in French and English.

What about videos?

I already created some videos on YouTube but I felt so weird talking to myself in front of the camera.

I’ll probably need a lot more experience before I can talk to you naturally without laughing nervously and without spending 3 hours filming a 5-minute video 😀 In the meantime, I’ll keep offering you long-as-your-arm posts 😀
