I tried Face Treatments & Massages in Rome (Italy): Addresses, Prices

We continue our worldwide facial treatments tour today with my best addresses in Rome.
I must admit that I haven’t tried every spa and treatment out there, but I’m so used to spas that when the service is exceptional, I know it right away, and I don’t need to go to the neighbor to compare.

In Rome, I’ve noted 2 addresses for you:

Facial massage: Kobido at Spring Touch

After several Kobido massages in Paris, I saw a real before/after difference: glowing skin, nasolabial folds gone, fresh complexion.

I wanted to find a Kobido masseuse in Rome and it was the best decision ever.

There’s only one certified Kobido masseuse in Rome: Simona Primavera, but she’s even more skilled than my Parisian masseuses (who were level 4) because she’s level 6 and has been trained by the Japanese Kobido master for 10 years now.

Kobido, what is it?
Kobido is an ancient Japanese massage. To offer a Kobido massage, the practitioner must be certified in Kobido, meaning they learn from the Kobido master (a title passed down from generation to generation; we’re at the 26th generation with Dr. Shogo Mochizuki).

Here’s how the session goes:

  • If you’re wearing makeup, you’ll get a thorough oil-based makeup removal
  • If you’re not wearing makeup, you’ll receive a lightly exfoliating cleanse (rice water), with massage, then removed with hot towels. If you think that’s not enough (e.g., you’ve been outside all day, among exhaust fumes, and sweaty), don’t hesitate to ask for a makeup removal anyway.
  • Simona massages with eyes closed, which allows her to better assess my face’s needs. For example, she immediately detected tension in my jaw and worked a lot on that area.
  • The décolleté isn’t really massaged but is heavily stimulated to get the lymph moving. Now, with experience, all it takes is for a masseuse to touch me for me to know if she knows acupuncture points or not lol 😀 I can confirm that Simona knows them very well and she’s also fully embraced Asian culture, energy flow, etc.
  • She also does some light massage on the neck, arms, and legs, so the whole body is relaxed.

Since a picture is worth 1000 words, I’ll just post a video; I had exactly the same treatment (well, Simona wasn’t in a kimono; it’s not practical for the massage, but the gestures are just as precise and effective).

Let me leave you to read my article fully dedicated to Simona here. Also, in her office, you’ll find a paper cherry blossom wreath that I gave to Simona 😉 don’t hesitate to send me a photo, it would make me happy.

Prices
€120 for a 50-minute session
She has offers for 4 sessions: €400
That’s an excellent price, given the quality of the service.

How to book?
Simona speaks Italian and English perfectly (and a bit of French); I recommend sending her a WhatsApp directly (rather than email) +39 329 335 5647
She replies super fast.
She accepts payment by card or cash.

Address
Her office is within the osteopathy practice: ChiroLab, Via Tacito, 26

Thai Massage with Beatrice

Beatrice is Filipino but was trained in Thai massage (traditional or with oil). Due to Covid, she currently only offers traditional massage.
She offers massages in an osteopath’s office (even the osteopath in question is very well-known and regularly appears on TV).

She’s so effective that even JB, who can’t be bothered to get massages, has come back several times.
You can ask for a 60 or 90-minute massage.
I came to see her for a massage and took the opportunity to ask her opinion: do I need an osteo or not, and she confirmed that the tension was only muscular, so no need.

She provides loose clothing (or you can bring your own). Due to Covid, you have to keep your mask on during the massage, but it’s not that bothersome.
She’ll find the tense areas on her own, but you can tell her beforehand—she speaks perfect English.

Prices
60 minutes = €60
90 minutes = €85
Payment by card or cash
