[review] The Restaurants of the Intercontinental Tahiti

Intercontinental Tahiti is the largest resort in French Polynesia, and we spend a lot of time there because it’s the best resort on the island and it’s just a 10-minute scooter ride from our place. We’ve had the chance to stay there and try all its restaurants. Here’s a quick rundown and review of each restaurant.

As soon as you arrive at the lobby, you’ll see a small dining area at the back left, the Lobby Bar. Breakfast is served until 10:30 AM, and from 11:30 AM you can order either ultra-caloric desserts or savory snacks. Personally, I loved the brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The view is also very satisfying. The value for money is excellent. For this dessert, expect to pay around 2100 XPF.

Then, heading down to the first floor, right opposite the main pool, you’ll see a huge restaurant where breakfast (buffet) is served; and you can eat there all day long. It’s called Te Tiare. Next to it is the Tiki Bar with a happy hour every day from 5 PM to 6:30 PM.

I find the service at Te Tiare quite messy, the breakfast isn’t that varied, and the dishes are mediocre. On the other hand, the sofas at the Tiki Bar are very comfortable. You can’t watch the sunset from the Tiki Bar, but if you like having a drink by the pool, it’s THE place to be.

Then, between the main pool and the Lotus pool is the Huariama with a view of Moorea, right by the water. It’s my favorite restaurant on Tahiti. The menu is short, but everything is delicious. My weakness is the flank steak with a delicious sauce!!!

The ganache is also to die for! Expect to pay around 4000 XPF per person.

It’s the perfect spot to watch the sunset (from 5 PM they only serve tapas and drinks). The sun sets behind Moorea, and it’s beautiful. I highly recommend it! see the video on Instagram

Then, near the Lotus pool, there’s a bar submerged in the water. And next to it is the Lotus restaurant, which is Michelin-starred.

I’ve already told you about the Lotus restaurant here. It’s delicious, very refined, but the portions are generous. I recommend going with a pool pass (10,750 XPF tax included per person from Monday to Thursday, 12,600 XPF per person from Friday to Sunday and local holidays).
