[review] Lunch at Hilton Hotel Tahiti

After several weeks of coding telling Claude Code to code, we need to get some fresh air and completely forget that computers and AI exist. The obsession and appeal of AI are real, but we live in paradise, so that can help us disconnect.

So we decide to have lunch at Hilton Hotel Tahiti. It’s a 4-star hotel very popular with tourists because it’s really close to the airport, and there’s a walkway connecting the hotel to a shopping center. Those who have to wait for their flight (planes usually take off around 11pm from Tahiti) are very happy to either sleep in this hotel (Booking link), or pay for a day pass while waiting for their flight.

The hotel is a bit too close to the port; seeing the containers from afar is not really my thing.

But the hotel has ocean access, deep enough to enjoy snorkeling and other water sports.

The hotel has several restaurants, and we opt for Taitea Brasserie.

You can sit inside or outside, your choice.

We didn’t expect to eat foie gras, but it’s part of the appetizers offered, so why not. The portions are very very generous, and the presentation (my skewer presented like a sword) is nice. Honestly, it was delicious.

Expect about €40-€44 per person.

I think we’ll come back on a Saturday morning for their “trio” brunch (with sushi, sashimi, French and Tahitian specialties), for 9000 Francs per person, so I was told.

If you come by car, since the parking lot is small, park near Carrefour then take the walkway to the hotel. If you come by scooter like us, no worries, there are enough spots to park.

JB then takes me to Papeete so I can buy a bubble tea. It’s been almost a month since I last went to Papeete; it’s quite far for us on a scooter (40 minutes since we don’t take the expressway). And then we went home, our arms full of groceries. Ready to code 😀
