Nice (France): a little taste of vacation

After Prague, I had to go to Nice for personal reasons that I’ll reveal soon.

I was still drained of energy, so I didn’t explore the city as I should have, but I did the bare minimum, which is to enjoy its little streets, shops, restaurants, and bookstores.

I booked an Airbnb and to pick up the key, I had to go to a bike/metro parking spot on the street and there were several small lockers with codes. Apparently, that’s how Airbnbs give keys to their guests in Nice. Funny thing is, two days later, it’s mentioned in “Nice Matin” that the city is going to remove these lockers for “vandalizing public space”.

First activity in Nice: a Thai massage that does a lot of good.

The city center is easily walkable. There’s a tram that connects the train station to the beach, but I admit I still haven’t looked into how to buy a ticket. I did everything on foot.

I managed to find a limited edition of “Swann’s Way” by Proust. I’ll probably use it for my next bookbinding class.

Next to my Airbnb, there’s this Vietnamese restaurant, always packed: Nha Que. It’s better to go at noon to avoid the wait. Once, I teamed up with a tourist to cut down the waiting time 😀 we ate at the same table, face to face, without even talking lol, it was funny.

I find Nice very pretty, but I don’t know what it’ll be like during the summer season.

After Nice, I went to meet JB in Barcelona before starting two weeks transatlantic cruise.
