[Review] Novexpert Hyaluronic Acid Booster Serum
Today, I’m reviewing the famous Novexpert hyaluronic acid booster serum, an organic product with amazing hydrating effects. Since I don’t have wrinkles, the effects of this serum are limited to hydration for me, but my friend Marjorie has seen incredible effects on her frown lines. So I asked her to share her experience. I got to try the Novexpert booster serum thanks to an advent calendar. My first serum.
At first, I thought: “A very nice bottle, but is the effectiveness up to par with this beautiful flask?”
My Routine Before
Basically, I have a rather simple routine that I adopted about 3 to 4 years ago:
- washing my face and neck with water in the morning (soap at night)
- floral water
- jojoba vegetable oil + aloe vera
My Routine After
So I started including the serum in my routine:
- face cleansing
- carrot floral water
- serum
- jojoba vegetable oil + aloe vera
Texture, Scent & Packaging
The first thing that struck me when using the serum is its texture; it looks a bit like aloe vera but more liquid.
Then, the scent: a subtle, not overpowering scent, which I loved right away.
Thirdly, with just one good drop, I can apply it to my face and neck thanks to the dropper, so it avoids too much handling. That’s great because I don’t like leaving the product exposed to air for too long. I want to preserve it as much as possible. Fourthly, the product is absorbed really well by my skin. No pilling with the rest of my routine (oil + aloe).
I spiced up the routine a bit when I decided to incorporate the Centifolia cream that the calendar offered.
New routine:
- water cleansing
- carrot floral water
- serum (which I pat with my fingers after application to wake up my skin)
- , and Centifolia rose glow cream to see how my skin reacts to this new routine.
The product didn’t pill when applying the cream after the serum. Another plus.

Alcohol-free, paraben-free, phenoxyethanol-free, preservative-free, acetone-free, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic.
Comment from Anh: this serum contains glycerin as the second ingredient and hyaluronic acid as the sixth. The hyaluronic acid is available in 4 molecular weights, allowing it to penetrate deeper. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, capable of holding up to 1000 times its weight in water, but you must always, as Marjorie does, hydrate the skin well with a moisturizer after the serum, because it needs to take water from somewhere. If the skin doesn’t have enough water, hyaluronic acid can actually dry out the skin. Always use a moisturizer after hyaluronic acid – that’s the only thing to remember!
My opinion
After 3 days, I find my skin more plumped up, hydrated, and the wrinkle between my eyebrows, called the ‘lion wrinkle,’ which appeared a few years ago, is less noticeable. I have a very deeply etched expression line on my forehead that is still there, because let’s not kid ourselves, expression lines are inevitable as we can’t control our expressions—it’s what makes us human, and we can’t completely erase that humanity, ha ha ha.
But I find it is also less noticeable and that’s a good thing because this wrinkle really gives me a complex, being right in the middle of my forehead. I’m not into Botox, surgery, or anything like that, so this will be my new best friend.
What’s the point of using this serum on my eyes? I’d say it’s a precious treatment. It adds an extra + to my routine, a + that my skin loves and that gives more meaning to my skincare. I’m delighted because it allows my skin to regain nice elasticity; I can feel it when I pinch my cheeks. I feel like my skin is alive.
