Discovery of axe throwing in Montreal (Canada)
I’m not sure if it’s really a traditional Canadian activity, but it’s certainly in fashion: we tested the barbaric practice of axe throwing in Montreal. There are several addresses in Montreal, we simply chose the one closest to us : Rage Axe Throwing which is very well rated on Google and Tripadvisor (the name is well chosen too) The reservation is made online. The rate is 45 CAD (+ taxes) from Monday to Thursday and 55 CAD from Friday to Sunday. This rate is for a target that can accommodate 1 to 3 people for a period of one hour. Only instruction: come with closed shoes, it would be a…

My first skydiving jump in Montreal (Canada)
Years ago (5 years?), Anh gave me for a birthday a voucher for a skydiving jump which is in my wishlist of things to do. In France, it is generally necessary to weigh less than 90 kg to make a tandem jump, so I was a little bit over, it was not done. Since we have been travelling around the world, there have been several occasions but there was always an excuse (“it will be prettier in this place”, “no time”, “it would be better with a French-speaking person for a first jump”, …). In Montreal, thanks to K., I met H. with whom we followed the NBA final. From…

[Review] Boursorama Ultim card + Referral link to get 130€
To be sponsored when you create an account at Boursorama and get 130 €, click here. In addition to offering very interesting banking services for travelers, neo-banks such as N26 and Revolut have another merit: they force other banks to wake up It is now the Boursorama bank that is issuing a new card: the Boursorama Ultim card, very interesting for travelers. It interests me all the more since Boursorama has been my main bank for several years. EDIT December 2020: Boursorama has just launched the big sister of the Ultim card: the Ultim Metal card. The Ultim Metal card costs 9,90 € / month and doesn’t bring much new.…

I attended the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix – Montreal Travel Diary
Upon arriving in Montreal, I learned that the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix would take place during our stay. Even though I’m not a motorsports fan at all, you’re beginning to know that I enjoy attending sporting events in the places I travel to. So I figured this was the perfect opportunity to attend a F1 Grand Prix. Before that, I watched the Netflix Formula 1: Drive to Survive series that just came out. It’s very well done and allows a beginner like me to understand this discipline a little better. How is the Canadian Grand Prix? Like all F1 Grand Prix events, the Canadian Grand Prix takes place over…

Compressed air shooting session in Montreal (Canada)
After a live-fire shooting session in Prague, it is almost a peaceful activity that we are doing today in Montreal. While hanging out on the Groupon site we find an interesting offer: for 49 CAD (to which we’ll have to add a few dollars in taxes) we are entitled to a one hour session for two people with unlimited ammunition at Tir du soleil which is barely a few subway stations away from our apartment. We bought the package on Groupon and we had to reserve a time slot on the Tir du soleil website. Arrived on the spot, the person who welcomes us gives us targets of various sizes,…

Search for a good cheap hotel with Booking, Agoda, Hotels.com and Tripadvisor
In this video, I present you our approach to find good hotels at the best price. I start my search by Booking which is probably the hotel reservation site offering the most choices all over the world. I check that the selected hotel is well rated on Tripadvisor I make sure there are no bed bugs (type the name of the hotel + bed bugs on Google) I see if the price is more interesting on Agoda, it is regularly the case for hotels in Asia Finally, I look at the price on Hotels.com . Thanks to the fidelity program, you get back the equivalent of 10% of the price…

Attend a Montreal Impact soccer game (Canada)
In Canada and the United States, the most popular sports are basketball, ice hockey, baseball and American soccer. Founded in 1993, Major League Soccer (MLS) is a 24-team (21 USA and 3 from Canada) soccer team (or soccer as they say here). MLS is developing little by little and is beginning to welcome some of the big names in soccer, usually at the end of their careers. David Beckham in Las Vegas and Thierry Henry in New York were among the pioneers. I have the opportunity to discover all this in Montreal, whose local franchise is called the Montreal Impact. I was able to easily buy my ticket on the…

Attend Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria show in Montreal (Canada)
During our dinner discussion with our friend A., she explains that Cirque du Soleil is currently performing in Montreal. Wow… Cirque du Soleil has always made me dream and… if there are still places available, it’s an opportunity you can’t miss! Checking done, there are still a lot of seats left and we buy two tickets for the following Thursday. The majority of the seats being already sold, we must, to be side by side, choose medium seats, on the side. We’re happy with it without any problem 🙂 We buy the tickets on the Cirque du Soleil website and they cost 103$CAD per person (tax included). When the day…
