Compressed air shooting session in Montreal (Canada)

After a live-fire shooting session in Prague, it is almost a peaceful activity that we are doing today in Montreal. While hanging out on the Groupon site we find an interesting offer: for 49 CAD (to which we’ll have to add a few dollars in taxes) we are entitled to a one hour session for two people with unlimited ammunition at Tir du soleil which is barely a few subway stations away from our apartment. We bought the package on Groupon and we had to reserve a time slot on the Tir du soleil website. Arrived on the spot, the person who welcomes us gives us targets of various sizes,…

I Tried it! Holotropic Breathwork in Montreal – My Experience & Review

Apparently, breathwork (rapid breathing to hyperventilation) is starting to be “trendy” in France. People participate in it as if it were a normal meditation or yoga class. While it is a very powerful way to access our psyche and should only be used when we really feel ready. In this article, I am going to talk about my experience of Holotropic Breathing, an experiment set up by Dr. Stanislav Grof, which allows access to the psyche by inducing a modified state of consciousness. The modified state of consciousness is reached several times a day without necessarily knowing it – when we dream, when we daydream, when we have just woken…

Dental Care in Canada – How much it costs, How it works

Because of a badly treated cavity, I finally stayed in Montreal for two months – because the radio showed even more problems than I thought. Let me tell you about the care I received and the fees Why get treatment in Canada? Because I’m just there right now. But after the excellent care I received, I thought it was a good choice. I know I can’t generalize, the quality of care obviously depends on the dentist but for someone with a lot of dental problems, I found the care experience much more pleasant and effective in Canada. Anesthetics are used to make the experience as painless as possible Dentists take…

Attend a Montreal Impact soccer game (Canada)

In Canada and the United States, the most popular sports are basketball, ice hockey, baseball and American soccer. Founded in 1993, Major League Soccer (MLS) is a 24-team (21 USA and 3 from Canada) soccer team (or soccer as they say here). MLS is developing little by little and is beginning to welcome some of the big names in soccer, usually at the end of their careers. David Beckham in Las Vegas and Thierry Henry in New York were among the pioneers. I have the opportunity to discover all this in Montreal, whose local franchise is called the Montreal Impact. I was able to easily buy my ticket on the…

    1 day in Toronto (Canada)

We actually spent a week in Toronto, but after a 15-day vacation in Iceland, we worked hard, went to Niagara Falls and had to wait a long time for the sun to come back. So it’s with all our layers of winter clothes – that we go out in the street – because it’s sunny, yes, but it’s still super cold. We start first with the High Park near our house, hoping to see the cherry trees in bloom. But there was absolutely NOTHING. The winter was particularly long this year, and we are in Toronto 2 weeks before flowering. A pity. Field hockey Hall of Fame We take the…

Visit to Niagara Falls (Canada) in April (early spring)

During our express passage in Toronto, we went – of course – to Niagara Falls, located between the United States and Canada. Part 1: Travel Diary Part2: Practical Tips Part 1: Travel Diary Access to the falls is completely free (they are on the side of the road and not in the deep jungle), but we opted for the Wonder Pass (25$/person HT) – which gives access AND to the buses, AND to some attractions. Montreal – Niagara Route We did it by bus, with the company Megabus, on time, clean and comfortable. 40$ round trip on average. The trip isn’t very nice but fast (1h30). The seats aren’t numbered…

Mood Ticket: Getting Treatment in Canada

You may have noticed my radio silence on the blog since our arrival in Canada. I explained it briefly on Facebook, but I will tell you a little more about it here. As I go to the dentist at least every year, I ask for the contact information of reputable dentists in the countries I visit, and if the opportunity arises, I go there for a check-up. Thus, I was able to visit dentists in Thailand and Morocco. In Morocco, a very good dentist-surgeon recommended me to stay somewhere a little longer – because he cannot treat a cavity very close to the nerve. And if this tooth needs to…

Attend Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria show in Montreal (Canada)

During our dinner discussion with our friend A., she explains that Cirque du Soleil is currently performing in Montreal. Wow… Cirque du Soleil has always made me dream and… if there are still places available, it’s an opportunity you can’t miss! Checking done, there are still a lot of seats left and we buy two tickets for the following Thursday. The majority of the seats being already sold, we must, to be side by side, choose medium seats, on the side. We’re happy with it without any problem 🙂 We buy the tickets on the Cirque du Soleil website and they cost 103$CAD per person (tax included). When the day…

Staying in Canada: Do you need a Visa or an ETA?

If you plan to stay in Canada for less than 6 months, good news, you don’t need a visa! If you arrive in Canada by car, train, bus or boat, you don’t need anything, except your passport of course. If you arrive by plane, you will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before your arrival. The procedure is very simple and is done online. The most “critical” point is to make the request on the official website. As for many other countries, there are “fake sites” that will charge you a much higher amount than the official site. Here is some information to know about the AVE procedure.…

Cosmetics to buy in Canada and where to buy

Today, I bring you to discover some of the top Canadian (or non-Canadian) cosmetic brands to bring back on your trip from Canada. Some natural products were recommended to me by Karen, who has been living in Quebec for several years (thank you very much) This list will certainly evolve, so a tip to choose THE product to buy is to look for the “look” logo in the stores. If they are on the “allure awards” list, you can buy them with your eyes closed. You will see that in this list, there are a lot of skin care products (more than make-up) because skin care products in America are,…
