Does the N26 card allow access to the Mastercard Airport Lounges?
Recently, on a Facebook group of travelers, a person presented what seemed to be an excellent plan: with an N26 black card, one could access free of charge the Mastercard lounge areas at the airport.
Mastercard has more than 1000 airport lounges around the world where you can wait comfortably for your flight while enjoying a buffet and a good glass of wine.
It sounded too good to be true (access to airport lounges are usually charged around 40 euros per person vs. 10 to 17 € per month for the N26 card for unlimited access, …).
Information taken, it isn’t possible. Either the person in question was lucky, or he omitted to specify something (he did not answer the Facebook questions of the various people asking for details).
I contacted N26 support who told me that access to the airport lounges was only possible for UK residents with an N26 Metal card.
Indeed, when you look at the prices on the UK website, the N26 metal card offers a Lounge Key Membership and it’s a great deal!

Unfortunately, nothing like this on the French version.

You can check by yourself by trying to register on the Lounge Key website: it doesn’t work.

Let’s hope that this great benefit will one day be available for French residents.
In the meantime, if you absolutely want to take advantage of the airport lounge spaces, the alternative is called Priority Pass but it is much more expensive (89 € / year + 28 € / visit or 399 € / year unlimited).
On our side, we benefit from a Priority Pass with our American Express Business Platinum card and it’s really cool 🙂
