How to buy / add an eSIM for use abroad – Holafly Review & Test

So, first of all, you receive a small email with a QR code for the SIM card (the SIM number if the QR code doesn’t work) along with the instructions, etc.
You should activate the eSIM preferably when you really need it, because it gives me 5GB of data over 30 days from the activation date.
Then, it’s quite simple.
On an iPhone, you just go to Settings => Cellular => Add Cellular Plan
Then, simply scan the QR code received by email. You can also enter the eSIM number (hard to take a photo of the QR code if you only have your phone ^^). You don’t need internet for this process.
You can then choose which SIM card is the primary one and which is secondary. For example, you can keep the French number as secondary to keep receiving SMS, but turn off data abroad.
So click on the eSIM (the one without a phone number), and click on “enable this number” and enable “data roaming”
Then choose “cellular data network” and type “holafly” as the username
The configuration is complete and you can use it instantly.
The connection speed is very fast. I’ll now be able to use this SIM card everywhere and replace the hotel’s unstable Wi-Fi if needed.
